IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - More than 60 people packed a quarterly meeting held by the U.S. International Boundary and Water Commission. Frustration grew in the room when residents realized it was a similar conversation as in past meetings. Many complained about a lack of direction presented at the meeting. "Too much talking, not enough action," said John Munns, a South Bay resident and a member of the group, Citizens for Coastal Conservancy. Carlos Pena, with the IBWC, says it's a complicated issue that involves many moving parts. The plans discussed at the meeting involved improving the wastewater infrastructures in Tijuana or creating defense structures in the U.S. along the border to protect its communities from sewage runoff. It could also be a combination of both. However, each of the projects would cost millions of dollars. It would also take planning, funding, and construction. They are solutions that will take years to accomplish, according to Pena. They will be creating a berm or land barrier to protect areas from runoff. They plan to finish that by the summer. He was 91.He died peacefully Friday night in hospice care in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by loved ones, said Steve Gonzalez, director of operations for the Seal Veterans Foundation.Boesch joined the Navy in 1944 and became one of the first SEALs in 1962. He served two combat tours during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star for heroism, and retired from the Navy in 1990 as a master chief petty officer.Before his retirement, Boesch was honored as "Chief SEAL," or "Bullfrog." The title marks his time as the longest-serving SEAL still on active duty. He remained involved after he left the Navy, serving on the board of directors of the UDT Seal Association."He was a legend in the Seal teams long before 'Survivor,'" Gonzalez said. "Rudy was beloved by all and will be deeply missed."At 72, Boesch was the oldest contestant ever on the CBS show, taking third place the first year, 2000, on "Survivor: Borneo." (AP) — For the first time, Airbnb is taking legal action against a guest for violating its ban on unauthorized parties. The San Francisco-based home-sharing company is initiating legal proceedings against a guest who held an unauthorized party at a home in Sacramento County, California, last weekend. Three people were shot and injured at the party. Airbnb wouldn’t release the guest’s name but says it has removed the guest from its platform.
