BONITA, Calif. (KGTV) - California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a wrong-way crash on the Eastbound lanes of Highway 54 near the 125. The crash happened just after 8 p.m. Friday and reduced traffic to one lane. All lanes reopened shortly before 11 p.m. CHP believes the driver of a red Toyota Corolla was driving the wrong way and crashed into a white BMW carrying a mother and two children. A Belding, Michigan, woman says she just got a postcard on Tuesday that was postmarked 100 years ago.“Yea, that’s a little too slow,” Brittany Keech said about a potential USPS delay in delivering a postcard.When she walked to her mail on Tuesday, she had no idea what she was about to find.“It was sitting right on top of the mail,” she said.It was an old Halloween postcard that was possibly lost in the mail.“I start looking at it and I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s been through some wear and tear,'" she said.You can see just how old it is. There’s a George Washington one-cent stamp in the corner, and a postmark of October 29, 1920.Keech talked about the front of the card that fits with this time of year.“It shows a witch with a cat and and a goose and an owl and says, ‘Halloween greetings. Which would you rather be? BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — The FBI is investigating after a piece of rope resembling a noose was found in a Black firefighter's locker in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington. An FBI spokesman confirmed Saturday the bureau is investigating and said that the case is in its initial stages. Bloomington officials had asked the FBI to investigate. Officials say that the rope was tied into what appears to be a crude noose and was discovered at a Bloomington fire station on June 15. The discovery was reported to Fire Department leaders eight days later, on Tuesday. The fire chief says such acts that “embody hate, intimidation, and aggression will not be tolerated.” Mayor Tim Busse says he's “disgusted, angry, and embarrassed by this cowardly act.” 758

(KGTV) - A nine hour standoff in Bonita has finally come to an end.Deputies have taken 37-year-old James Gilbert, who was wanted for a domestic violence incident, into custody.He has been booked into San Diego Central Jail on charges of making threats with a weapon, making terrorist threats and resisting arrest.Gilbert refused to come out of the home for hours.A San Diego Sheriff's Department SWAT team brought in two BearCats, made multiple flyovers with a helicopter and even called in a bomb squad.Two blocks of Allen School lane were blocked off all day due to the incident.Witnesses say a man believed to be the suspects brother tried running past the Sheriff's tape, ignoring deputies who tried to stop him.That man was handcuffed and taken into custody.Nearby Ella B. Allen Elementary School and Daly Academy were put on heightened security in light of the crisis. Children left the campuses safely after school let out.
