A gunman opened fire inside of a Cheltenham Township, Pa. Walmart on Tuesday, leaving five people shot and several others with non-gunshot injuries, NBC Philadelphia reported, citing law enforcement officials. The incident took place around 6:15 p.m., and has since been contained. Eyewitnesses told NBC Philadelphia that the shooting took place at a cash register inside of Walmart.A gunman reportedly took the gun out of his waistband and shot five people during an altercation. A pregnant woman, who was not shot, was injured trying to get away. Two police officers were also injured during a fight trying to apprehend the suspect. The gunman reportedly fired 10 gunshots inside of the Walmart before fleeing. All eight victims are expected to survive. Two people were taken into custody after the suspected gunman and a possible accomplice tried to flee.  917

A hazmat situation has been confirmed at Merrol Magnet High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee.An official said at least 17 people were triaged at the scene Wednesday morning, and multiple patients, including a teacher and high school students, were taken to area hospitals. Some of those were being treated in Hendersonville, while others were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.The situation was described as an incident in a science class. The school was evacuated, and the students were relocated following the incident.The injuries were described as possible chemical burns; however, exact details on the injuries had not yet been released.The building is split between a middle school/high school and an elementary school. School was dismissed as a precaution at 10:15 a.m. for the middle and high schools. Elementary students were also released. A command center has been set up near campus for parents to pick up their children.Authorities said they have been airing out the school to make sure no further incidents take place. The fire department will investigate inside the building and will be responsible for giving the all clear at the scene. 1190

A former DACA recipient who had previously claimed he was wrongly deported was arrested on Monday night after attempting to illegally enter the US from Mexico, according to US Customs and Border Protection.Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez, 23, was seen by Remote Video Surveillance Systems operators crossing the border a few miles east of Calexico, California, according to Border Patrol. The agency said he ran about 200 yards north of the border fence, laid down on the ground, and then stood up and ran again as agents approached him.He was arrested and booked into the Imperial County Jail on pending charges of re-entry after removal, Customs and Border Protection said.He was arrested under the same charge in February, CBP said, which was when Montes claimed he had been wrongfully deported."Our agents witnessed and arrested Mr. Bojorquez making an illegal entry into the United States for the second time this year," said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. Kim. "Border Patrol Agents will always stop, detain, and arrest anyone making an illegal entry into the country irrespective of their immigration or citizenship status."Montes' earlier lawsuit had been a flashpoint in the Trump administration's policies toward the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA. A high school teacher in Tennessee is under investigation by Nashville Public Schools officials following a recording students made in her classroom in which she uses profanity and seems to berate kids with foul language.The recording was made last week inside McGavock High School. It shows the teacher telling her kids "I have better things to do than to tell you whether or not you can go to the mother f--- bathroom, that’s not my job. If you have to pee you should be able to get that done without me. I don’t give a f--- about your bladder."MNPS officials say the teacher involved admitted to the behavior. In the seven-minute clip, the teacher seems to be venting many of her frustrations about the class."Everyone can make an 'A' in my class. Show up with a pencil and paper, when I write you write. I don’t know why you have not caught on to that since August," she can be heard saying.At one point she tells the students, "You gonna get somebody pregnant, and then you’ll be like ‘the system is against me, they want child support,' well maybe you should keep your dick in your pants."Students who were in the classroom at the time of the outburst say they alerted school officials but no action was taken against the teacher."Being a teacher is very stressful but I feel like opinions like that you should keep it to yourself.
