SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two people are dead after a car and semi-truck collided during a Border Patrol pursuit in Otay Mesa Tuesday night, agents say. According to Border Patrol, two people were seen crossing over the border into the United States early Tuesday night. Agents described them as a man and a woman.The agency told 10News a getaway car was waiting for the pair. The driver of the car led agents on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. RELATED: Three hospitalized after Border Patrol chase leads to crash in CampoThe pursuit lasted for about a quarter of a mile before the driver reportedly lost control and crashed into the back of a semi-truck, forcing the car beneath the truck and into a ditch. Two of the men inside the vehicle died while the woman was taken to the hospital and, as of Tuesday night, was listed in critical condition. The identity of the victims hasn’t been released. 937

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two weeks after their son was killed, the parents of Alexander Mazin spoke to 10News for the first time about the brutal attack.Penelope and Jeffrey Mazin say their son left for the 24 Hour Fitness gym on Midway Dr. around 9 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2018.“I said 'I love you' and I kissed him on his little fuzzy beard,” remembered his mom, “and he walked out the door. I’m glad I saw him that morning.”He was scheduled to meet with his dad at noon, but by 12:05, his parents were already worried. He was never late.They started calling hospitals and police stations. Little did they know, officers were already searching for him.“Two plainclothes detectives in black cars pulled up and my heart sunk because I knew right then and there something horrible must have happened,” said Jeffrey.The suspect in the case has been identified as Ernesto Castellanos.The Mazins say Castellanos was in a previous relationship with their son’s girlfriend. They say Alexander had been dating the woman for about three months but kept their relationship somewhat private.There were warning signs. Two weeks before the killing, they say Castellanos had attacked the woman while she was working out with Mazin at a 24 Hour Fitness.Castellanos’ whereabouts are unknown. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - With young children fast asleep in their bedroom, surveillance video shows a burglar on the prowl at a home in South Park. Just off 32nd Street, Billy McCowan woke up to a disturbing sight on Wednesday morning."Came over and saw the side door open to the garage," said McCowan.RELATED: La Mesa woman wakes up to burglar in her bedroomA look at the surveillance video revealed who had been on his property. Starting at about 8 p.m., a pickup truck pulls up and parks across from his home. At about 5 a.m., a man wrapped in a blanket emerges from the truck and walks through his front gate.McCowan believes the burglar walked through the unlocked door to a detached garage - a converted office - and grabbed an iPhone. Video shows the man roaming the property. Next up was a detached hot tub room."We had a small TV in here," said McCowan.In the video, the burglar is seen carrying that TV. Meanwhile, inside the home were McCowan's wife, and two children, ages 3 and 5. They were all asleep.Forty-five minutes after the man first arrives, the intruder is seen peering into the children's bedroom. By this time, McCowan has woken up and he's making coffee in the kitchen. The man appears to see him and ducks down, before quietly getting into his truck and driving off. It was a fortunate twist.
