PORTSMOUTH, Va.— A hit-and-run in Portsmouth, Virginia, left residents shaken up.Police say a driver hit a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier and drove off, leaving her in serious condition.Judi Gould was overcome with emotion Tuesday afternoon as a witness to the aftermath of a hit-and-run.“You can’t imagine what it’s like to see her like that,” said Gould.She says her beloved letter carrier was struck down in the middle of the street near Airline Boulevard and Caroline Avenue while delivering mail on her route.Police say the 44-year-old was crossing Airline Boulevard when she was hit by a vehicle just before 11 a.m.Police are looking for the driver of a black Dodge Journey that flagged down an officer about the crash. They are asking for the public to share any images from Alexander's Corner to Rodman Avenue between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday.The United States Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to ,000 to anyone with information that could lead to an arrest.“She is like the most upbeat mail carrier. It was raining and she still was just glowing, just walking as fast as she could,” said Gould.She says it was only minutes after she saw her bubbly letter carrier that she heard the sirens.“The police were out there picking up all the mail and trying to gather it, and all you do is just watch them.”Gould watched nearby as first responders worked desperately to find signs of life.“They tried for the longest time to revive her. I’ve never seen them try so long and so hard, and she just wasn’t moving.”Multiple neighbors say the intersection at Airline Boulevard and Caroline Avenue is a trouble spot and say something needs to be done about cars flying through the area.“We need a light here we; really need a light here. If they don’t get a street light here, it’s gonna keep getting bad,” said Gould.Now, Gould is pleading for someone who may have details about the driver who left the scene or their vehicle to come forward.“I’m begging, somebody - please hold somebody accountable for this lady’s life, please.”In the meantime, she’ll be thinking of victim’s family, hoping they get closure before the holidays.“If you did it, and you know you did, it was an accident; please come forward. President Donald Trump is ordering the expulsion of 60 Russian diplomats and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle, Washington, in the wake of the UK nerve agent attack, the White House announced Monday.The President is taking the action in response to the poisonings of a former Russian double agent and his daughter in England, the administration announced.Forty-eight of the diplomats work at the Russian embassy and a dozen at the United Nations in New York. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A rope is being blamed for December’s weeklong boil water advisory in Poway, according to a newly-released report.The report says a surge in storm water caused a backflow in the system. A rope stuck inside a gate designed to keep water out of the reservoir allowed the storm water to seep into the area. As a result of the incident, the affected section of the reservoir had to be disinfected and refilled. RELATED: Inspection found 12 flaws in Poway's water delivery systemA boil water was issued November 30 and canceled December 6 as a result of the contamination. The advisory was issued after residents reported brownish water coming from their faucets on November 29. The report also goes into detail about what is being done as a result of the advisory. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - A couple was on their way to the hospital to give birth, but their baby decided to make his grand entrance before they could get there.Bill Sudzuk's wife, Holly Hill, was not expected to give birth to their third child until next week. But early Thursday morning, she began having contractions.As they drove to the hospital at around 2:30 a.m., Sudzuk realized that the baby was not going to wait as they were still a few minutes away from the delivery room."Baby wanted to come out, nothing we could do about it," Sudzuk said.Because of the contractions, the couple pulled over in the parking lot of a Chevron gas station on Scripps Poway Parkway and Pomerado Road, and Sudzuk called 911 for assistance.While on the phone, paramedics guided Sudzuk through the process of helping deliver the baby. Seconds later, Sudzuk caught Simon with his free hand. "Three minutes later, we have a little one!" Hill said.Next thing he knew, Sudzuk was handling the umbilical cord with a bungee."I went and found a string, and I ended up cutting a bungee off my backpack and cutting and tying it off," Sudzuk said. Paramedics arrived to check on mom and baby before putting them in an ambulance and taking them to the hospital.Doctors said they are lucky they had no complications. Simon, who is now nicknamed "Chevron" is a happy, healthy baby boy. Despite their crazy day, the family is in good spirits. As for having babies in the future, the couple joked, if she is a girl, they will drive to a Shell station, and name her Shelly. 1551
