Wolverines have been spotted on Washington’s Mount Rainier, and it’s causing quite a stir.For the first time in more than 100 years, a mother and two offspring, called kits, were photographed in Mount Rainier National Park.“It’s really, really exciting,” said Mount Rainier National Park Superintendent Chip Jenkins in a statement from the National Park Service. “It tells us something about the condition of the park— that when we have such large-ranging carnivores present on the landscape that we’re doing a good job of managing our wilderness.”Scientists are hopeful that the sighting of a reproductive female and kits means wolverines may start returning to the park. Camera stations were installed in 2018 to photograph and identify wolverines based on their distinctive chest fur patterns. Kentucky State Police (KSP) say that human remains were found on a property on Fall Lick Road in Garrard County.The remains were found just before midnight. Police are waiting on an autopsy for a positive ID.KSP confirmed that it was a tip that led them to the home. According to an arrest citation, someone in the home contacted police saying they smelled a foul odor coming from the property.KSP said the property belongs to the parents of one of the suspects who troopers believe was one of the three people with whom Spurlock was last seen. Upon arrival, officers located concealed remains buried under the ground behind the home.It's not the first time that police have searched the home. (CNS) - A wind-driven brush fire that broke out on the west end of Corona in Riverside County and quickly spread into Orange County -- threatening homes in Yorba Linda and blackening 15,200 acres -- was 0% contained Tuesday.Initially called the Green Fire and later renamed the Blue Ridge Fire, the blaze was reported at 12:55 p.m. Monday adjacent to the Green River Golf Club, just off of Green River Road and the Riverside (91) Freeway, according to the Corona Fire Department.Ten homes were damaged in the blaze, but the location and extent of damage were not immediately available, according to the Orange County Fire Authority, which added that more than 1,000 firefighters were battling the blaze.Evacuations have been ordered in 5,958 homes in Chino Hills and 2,500 homes in Yorba Linda. In Brea, 276 homes were ordered evacuated, 680 homes voluntarily evacuated and no homes were damaged there, officials said.Unlike most of the day Monday, firefighters on the ground were expected to get help from helicopter water drops on Tuesday as the intense winds have lessened, Orange County Fire Authority Capt.
