The owner of a?dog that was stolen Saturday evening from a Petco in Palm Beach Gardens was reunited with her pet Tuesday morning.The dog's owner, Tara Harris, said police called her in the middle of the night to say they found her pet Maltese-mix named Teddy. Harris arrived at the Palm Beach Gardens police station at about 5 a.m. local time to pickup Teddy, who is 11-years-old, blind and diabetic.Palm Beach Gardens police said they arrested Heather Ryan, 48, who had the dog in her possession. Circumstances of the arrest have not been released by police. However, police said Ryan was arrested near Legacy Place off PGA Boulevard and charged with grand theft.Harris wanted to thank police and the public for their help reuniting her with Teddy.“I’ll never be able to put into words how unbelievably amazing it was (to be reunited with Teddy)," Harris said. "I can’t express into words how happy I am to have him back in my arms with my family."The dog, which lost 1.2 pounds in three days, was taken to a veterinarian to be evaluated. Teddy was slightly dehydrated when he was found overnight and is now on an IV since his blood sugar levels were high.   1247

The NFL will consult an advisory committee made up of former coaches, general managers, and players on such issues as postponing, moving, or even canceling games this season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Troy Vincent, the league's football operations chief, said that the advisers, who will report to Commissioner Roger Goodell, will help avoid any "inequities" in those decisions. Vincent did not identify any members of the panel, saying he was awaiting their approval to do so. Vincent also said the league will consider playoff games in a bubble environment, noting that "all options are on the table."Game-day and travel protocols were sent to all 32 teams this week, which included "extensive in-stadium specifics include rules for the field, sidelines, locker rooms, tunnels, entrances, and training rooms," the Associated Press reported.The league said that when traveling, masks must be worn at all times, everyone must stay in separate hotel rooms, buses limited to no more than 50% capacity, and when on an airplane, a seat must be left open between passengers."I am very proud of the innovation and attention to detail that our club medical staffs have shown as they have created these plans, which were reviewed and approved by the league, the NFLPA, and our infectious disease experts,” said NFL Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills.Teams will not be allowed to leave their hotel to eat or use restaurants that are open to the public, the league said.Cheerleaders and mascots cannot be on the field this upcoming season, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported. 1584

The moderator from Tuesday’s presidential debate says there was an “honor system” for both campaigns when it came to completing COVID-19 tests for their staff ahead of the event.Fox News host Chris Wallace was speaking with his colleague Bill Hemmer Friday afternoon. They were discussing reports from earlier in the day that Trump’s family did not wear masks while seated during the debate in Cleveland.Wallace confirmed the report and said the Trump family were offered masks by the Cleveland Clinic staff and “rejected them.”He also said when President Donald Trump came into the hall Tuesday afternoon to look at the stage set-up, “members of the commission (on presidential debates) were not especially happy with the fact that the presidential party was not wearing a mask” during the walk-through.The statement released from the Cleveland Clinic Friday morning in regard to these developments stated, “Most importantly, everyone permitted inside the debate hall tested negative for COVID-19 prior to entry. Individuals traveling with both candidates, including the candidates themselves, had been tested and tested negative by their respective campaigns.”Wallace confirmed this, and said there would not have been enough time to have people from the campaigns tested on-site in Cleveland and receive results back before the debate needed to start.“They didn’t arrive until Tuesday afternoon, so for them to get tested, there wouldn’t have been enough time to have the test and have the debate later that night at 9 o’clock,” Wallace told Hemmer. “So yeah, there was an honor system when it came to the people who came into the hall from the two campaigns.”Wallace said people who were on the ground for multiple days in Cleveland, like himself and Hemmer who covered the debate for Fox News, were tested by the Cleveland Clinic. The National Weather Service confirmed that two EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday afternoon.According to the National Weather Service in Miami, one tornado touched down in downtown Fort Lauderdale near Andrews Avenue and NE 5th Street at about 3:34 p.m. The tornado, packing winds of 65 mph, knocked over construction fencing and barriers. A minor tree damage was reported near NE 1st Avenue and NE 4th Street.  The NWS says the tornado touched down south of the Tarpon River in the Rio Vista neighborhood, causing tree damages and minor debris, including trash cans.  637
