TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted six men on charges of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.In October, the men were arrested in what authorities describe as a plot by anti-government extremists angry over the Democratic governor's policies to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge announced in a statement that the indictment was handed down Wednesday.According to an indictment released Thursday, Adam Fox, Brandon Caserta, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, and Daniel Harris, all of Michigan, and Barry Croft of Delaware, allegedly began to plan the kidnapping last summer.According to the indictment, they allegedly conducted surveillance of Whitmer's rural vacation home and practicing the use of firearms and explosives.On August 23, Garbin, Franks, and Caserta met up with Harris near his residence in Lake Orion, Michigan, to examine each other’s identification documents to make sure they weren't undercover law enforcement agents or informants, according to the affidavit.WXYZ reports that federal agents were infiltrated among the group as either confidential informants and undercover FBI agents.According to the indictment, Fox ordered ,000 worth of explosives from an undercover agent in September.Fox also ordered a taser in October, WXYZ reported. Fox was also photographed at the governor's summer home drawing a map of the property.According to WXYZ, Fox, Garbin, Franks, and Harris were arrested after showing up in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to pay the undercover FBI agent posing as a co-conspirator for the explosives. Travelers might be wise to check for flight delays before heading to the airport this week, especially if you have a flight to the Gulf Coast, Georgia or the Carolinas as Hurricane Michael disrupts air traffic. As of Tuesday evening, several commercial airports in Florida have announced closures in advance of the hurricane's landfall. Panama City Airport announced all flights for American, Delta, Southwest and United Airlines are canceled until at least Thursday morning. The airport says it anticipates a Thursday start-up, pending a post-storm assessment. Destin-Ft. Walton Beach Airport announced it will close at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday and remained closed until further notice. At Tallahassee International Airport, all commercial flights have been canceled for Wednesday with an expected resumption of 8 a.m. on Thursday. Pensacola Airport is also shutting down operations at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday until further notice. Delta said it is ferrying its fleet from the affected airports to Atlanta during the hurricane. All three restaurants are located at The Venetian/The Palazzo. The restaurants will close July 27. A letter written by Joe Bastianich with B&B Hospitality Group says that Las Vegas Sands Corp. decided to end the relationship. The letter also says that the group will help employees transition into new positions. An earlier report said that B&B was "actively negotiating" to buy out the celebrity chef.Batali stepped down from daily operations of his restaurant empire and his cooking show after the allegations surfaced in December. "So normally how that worked is I would rush home and try to get there and then usually we go to urgent care of the E.R. and try to figure out what was going on."Instead he got on a computer his employers set up, and in minutes, was connected to a doctor."They confirmed that we need to give her the Benadryl and then monitor it because she only had one zone that was reacting," Hughes-Findley said. "And that if it exploded or got worse then we could give her the IP pen and then take her to the ER."Hughes-Findley's daughter wasn't seen by a doctor in person, but her issue was solved. All without him having to leave his job."Once it subsided I went back to work," Hughes-Findley said.With just a few steps, Hughes-Findley can go from work to the Kaiser Permanente Integrated Care Room that's been set up at his job. There, he can connect with a doctor by chat, phone, or even video.The doctor can help employees take their temperature and even their blood pressure. They have access to all of the patient's medical records, so they can give a complete assessment and even make follow up appointment.Dr. Pierre Onda with Kaiser Permanente helped develop the pilot program to test a new concept in health care and said he believes this is the future of health care. His team has found virtual care can often be more efficient than in person treatment."There is maybe 50 to 60 percent of the problems that people are coming in can be addressed through that venue," Dr. Onda said. "So certainly not all of the problems but a significant portion of those problems can be managed."Other factors? Cost and convenience. Americans pay more for in person visits, and Onda says making it easier to connect with you doctor, makes it easier for your doctor to provide excellent care."To me this is just a way where I can extend the care and that I already do more conveniently for my patients," Dr. Onda said. 2477
