SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police were involved in a chase that led to a standoff in Valencia Park Wednesday night.Video from Sky10 showed police chasing the suspect through residential streets. The chase began after police spotted the woman, who is wanted for burglaries and identity thefts throughout San Diego County, driving on the 805.The woman refused to stop and led both Harbor Police and San Diego Police on a slow-speed chase. Police then used spike strips that appeared to flatten one of the vehicle’s tires.The driver stopped a short distance after the spikes were used. Police could then be seen taking a police K9 out of one of the vehicles.The woman refused to get out of her car after police threatened to send in the K9 unit. The suspect sat in her car until officers approached the vehicle, broke the drivers side window, and pulled her out of the car.In video captured from the scene, the woman could then be seen being taken into custody.Live video captured by Sky10 shows the whole incident. Watch the video in the player below:  1066

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have identified the man suspected of stabbing a 55-year-old to death in the Midway District Thanksgiving Day. According to San Diego Police, Forrest Robert Brantley, 38, stabbed 55-year-old Robert Frank Erbe around 8 a.m. November 28 on the 3100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard. Erbe was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.RELATED: Police identify man killed in Midway District stabbingAfter investigating the stabbing, police learned that Brantley and Erbe got into some sort of fight before Brantley is accused of stabbing Erbe in the neck. Brantley was last seen walking away from the scene. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police say. He is wanted for the murder investigation as well as for a parole violation. Anyone who spots him is asked to call 911. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- National Forests throughout Southern California will close Monday night as wildfires continue to ravage the state.Stanislaus National Forest, Sierra National Forest, Sequoia National Forest, Inyo National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest, and Cleveland National Forest will all close Monday at 5 p.m., according to the US Department of Agriculture.The agency also prohibited the use of any ignition source on all National Forest System lands throughout the state.All developed campgrounds and day-use sited in National Forests throughout the state have will also shutter operations.“The wildfire situation throughout California is dangerous and must be taken seriously. Existing fires are displaying extreme fire behavior, new fire starts are likely, weather conditions are worsening, and we simply do not have enough resources to fully fight and contain every fire,” said Randy Moore, Regional Forester for the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region.“We are bringing every resource to bear nationally and internationally to fight these fires, but until conditions improve, and we are confident that National Forest visitors can recreate safely, the priority is always to protect the public and our firefighters. With these extreme conditions, these temporary actions will help us do both.”It’s unclear when the forests will again reopen. 1431

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- New data shows that home sales in Southern California could be dipping, while sales in San Diego County are on the rise. The data from CoreLogic shows that the sale of existing housing sold in Southern California in April of 2018 was down nearly four percent since March of 2018.In San Diego County, however, home sales increased by more than five percent in April. But trying to improve the home you live in can become a budget-busting nightmare.According to a new survey from the Freedom Debt Relief, 69 percent of homeowners plan to renovate within the next five years. But 60 percent of people surveyed say they can't afford needed upgrades.That's why 73 percent of the respondents plan to finance their renovation plans."People want to stay in their homes," says Michael Micheletti, the Communications Director for Freedom Debt Relief. "Once it becomes your house, it becomes your home. So, perhaps people are willing to take on more debt to stay in those communities and those school districts they've become accustomed to."Micheletti says most of the people who plan to renovation will spend either more than ,000 or between ,000 and ,000. With that much money at stake, it's important to know what projects are worth the cost."There's give and take" says Gregg Cantor, the CEO of construction company Murray Lampert. "You have to prioritize what's most important."According to the survey, the most popular upgrades are also the most expensive. New flooring topped the list at 59 percent, bathroom renovations were 53 percent, and new kitchens were 51 percent. After that, Landscaping (43%), Windows (31%), Fencing (28%), Roofing (27%) and Decks (26%) were the most popular.But Cantor says smaller, aesthetic-based upgrades can make your home more appealing to buyers.
