SHENZHEN, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Another employee of Foxconn Technology Group jumped to death Wednesday night just hours after the company chief promised better welfare and local government appealed to young workers to cherish their lives.The latest casualty fell to his death from a dormitory building in a Shenzhen plant at around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, a witness surnamed Ye told Xinhua over the phone. The death has been confirmed by Foxconn.It was the 10th such death and 12th such fall at the plant in Shenzhen this year. BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- China's parliament on Thursday adopted the Law on Guarding State Secrets and the amended State Compensation Law at the closing session.Wu Bangguo，chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People' s Congress, or the top legislature, presided over the closing of the four-day bimonthly session.Wu said, the amendment to the State Compensation Law will regulate the use of public power, protect legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons and social organizations. The 14th session of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) concludes in Beijing, capital of China, on April 29, 2010. ISLAMABAD, March 30 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese embassy official Tuesday called on an official of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to donate 30,000 U.S. dollars on behalf of the China Red Cross Society (CRCS) to assist the residents affected by the landslide in northern Pakistan early this year.Muhammad Ilyas Khan, PRCS secretary general, asked Yao Jing, counselor of the Chinese embassy to Pakistan, to convey his appreciation to the CRCS for its generous donation to Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan due to the landslide in January, 2010.He said that Chinese friends always extend assistance to Pakistan in difficult times and Pakistan is proud of its friendship with China.At present, the local government and PRCS are working hard to provide relief to the villages. The government is also trying to control the damage and tackle with the challenge caused by the lake in the area.On January 4, a serious landslide occurred in Gilgit-Baltistan and formed a huge barrier lake.
