ORLANDO, Fla. — Fans are calling on Disney parks to re-theme one of their most iconic rides.A petition posted on Change.org asks Disney to remove all references to its 1946 film "Song of the South" from Splash Mountain.The petition says the movie "steeped in extremely problematic and stereotypical racist tropes." And tweeted.Between 9:04 am and 9:37 am, Trump sent five tweets -- all around the same basic theme: He is being unfairly persecuted by special counsel Robert Mueller even as Mueller and the broader FBI overlook crimes by Democrats.The tweets included misinformation and, in some cases, outright falsehoods. Taken together, Trump said 11 things that aren't true. Here's the breakdown -- tweet by tweet.1. "Things are really getting ridiculous. Officials with the Texas Animal Health Commission say a 2-year-old dog in Texas is the first animal in the state to be infected with the virus that causes the coronavirus in humans.In a news release, the officials with the health commission said the Tarrant County dog was tested by a veterinary as a precaution after its owners had the virus.“Based on current knowledge, there is no evidence that pets play a significant role in spreading SARS-CoV-2 to people,” said Dr. Andy Schwartz, State Veterinarian in the release. “It’s always important to restrict contact with your pets and other animals, just like you would other people if you are infected with COVID-19 in order to protect them from infection.”The veterinary says the dog is healthy.There are now 12 other animals in the United States that have tested positive for the virus, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.Officials say routine testing of animals is not recommended at this time. 1011

OCEANSIDE (CNS) - An attempted murder of a peace officer conviction was overturned Friday for a man accused of intentionally running down a motorcycle officer during a routine traffic stop in Oceanside, after an appellate court ruled that his attorney ignored the defendant's argument that he was innocent of the crime.Roberto Ignacio Flores was sentenced to 29 years to life in prison for allegedly running his car into Oceanside Police Officer Brad Hunter on June 19, 2017, leaving the officer hospitalized with life-threatening injuries that kept him out of the field for just over six months.While Flores contended that he was not the driver of the Dodge Neon that struck Hunter, Flores' attorney, John Wilshke, argued at trial that Flores was the driver, but did not have the intent to kill required for an attempted murder conviction.RELATED: Oceanside officer targeted in hit-and-run is back homeFlores also disagreed with his lawyer's concession on weapons possession charges related to a collection of guns found at his home.A three justice panel ruled Friday that Flores' sixth amendment rights were violated, as he was not allowed to present the defense of his choice.The Hunters released this statement to 10News:"Obviously we are very disappointed in the decision by the 4th DCA but confident that a retrial will result in another conviction - Attempted Murder of a Peace Officer - and the appropriate sentence. OCEANSIDE, California— Oceanside lifeguards are warning beachgoers of multiple shark sighting off Oceanside Pier Friday.Lifeguards said they received multiple reports of an unknown species of shark, measuring about 12 feet in length, about 100 yards offshore on the south side of the pier just after 12:30 p.m.Two rescue vessels and a drone were sent out to the shark's last reported location, but no shark was located.The waters have been cleared for swimmers and surfers for about 1 mile north and 1 mile south of the area, according to lifeguards.Waters will remain open Saturday, barring any other reported sightings.While shark sightings are rare along San Diego County's coastline, lifeguards are asking beachgoers to keep an eye out.A 13-year-old boy was attacked by what is believed to have been a great white shark in September off the coast of Encinitas, just south.Keane Hayes was attacked while lobster diving at Beacon's Beach.
