Pearce is accused of commanding his K-9, Tuco, to bite Jeffery Ryans, even though Ryans was on his knees and had his hands in the air."When K-9 Tuco engaged and was biting Ryans, [Pearce] continually praised and encouraged K-9 Tuco," a probable cause statement said. "While he was being attacked by K-9 Tuco, Ryans expressed extreme emotions reflective of pain from being bitten by K-9 Tuco and plead with the officers to stop the biting. Sara Jacobs is leading Georgette Gomez 38 percent to 24 percent in the race, with 38 percent still undecided, an ABC-10News Union-Tribune says. Jacobs, a nonprofit founder who served in Obama's State Department, is leading Gomez among Democrats, Independents and Republicans who say they have made up their minds. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A DUI/Driver's License checkpoint in the Mission Bay area of San Diego resulted in 11 arrests, police said Saturday morning.More than 660 vehicles went through the checkpoint at 2600 Ingraham St., between 11:20 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday and nearly 600 of those vehicles were screened, according to Officer Mark McCullough of the San Diego Police Department.Of the vehicles screened, 18 drivers were evaluated and 11 were arrested on suspicion of DUI in or near the checkpoint, including one driver who was taken into custody after he failed to stop for the checkpoint and crashed his vehicle, McCullough said.Police also cited seven drivers for unspecified violations and impounded nine vehicles.Another checkpoint is scheduled for Saturday, but the time and location were not immediately disclosed. 836
