PETERSBURG, Fla. — A long-simmering feud between a pair of Tampa Bay radio personalities is headed to court.A lawsuit was filed Wednesday on behalf of Bubba Clem — better known as "Bubba the Love Sponge" — in Pinellas County. Clem is seeking unspecified damages from his former employer, Cox Media Group, and two of his former employees, Mike "Cowhead" Calta and Matthew "Spice Boy" Lloyd.Calta is the current morning show host on Cox station WHPT and a former coworker of Clem's. Lloyd, is a former Cox employee and a former member of Clem’s crew. The complaint alleges Cox engineered a scheme to that led to Clem’s termination from Beasley Media Group, a competing radio group.“As our complaint alleges, Cox Media has engaged in improper, anti-competitive acts that no major media company should ever employ,” said Clem’s attorney Jeffrey E. Nusinov in a statement. “Cox Media set out to destroy Bubba Clem — not through honest competition, but through dishonest and illegal means.”Clem’s show is currently broadcast on WHBO 1040 AM in Pinellas Park, Florida. Last year the former top-rated shock jock in Tampa Bay reached a settlement with consumer research company Nielsen over a ‘ratings tampering,’ lawsuit.The terms of the settlement between Clem and Nielsen were not disclosed.In Wednesday’s filing, Clem’s lawyers claim Calta and Lloyd played a major role in leaking footage of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan having sex with Clem’s wife to Gawker.Gawker and Hogan settled their lawsuit in November 2016.Hulk Hogan is also suing Calta, Lloyd and Cox Media group over the leak in Pinellas County.Calta had no comment when asked about the lawsuit. 1671

However, the pastor says preaching to an empty building seemed a bit inauthentic."Now we're using this opportunity to do something different," Burgen said. "I just recorded my sermon for this weekend in an empty coffee shop. The world has changed. This place should be full of people, but it can't be at the moment."He says the church's online presence has nearly doubled. "It has more rewards in Islam."Usually, there would be more than a hundred people moving in and out of the Mosque for the five daily prayers. But for everyone's safety, the Mosque is now vacant. Imam Kolila says what they can offer online are lectures and reflections to continue spiritual education. Like teaching the importance of choosing generosity over greed and how we can use this time to grow."It's mentioned in the Quran multiple times that when people felt challenged, they would start to become self-aware of how they live their lives." While nobody is sure when this will all be over, religious leaders, as well as followers like Claire Fundingsland, are choosing to focus on the positive."I truly believe that God can do a miracle, and this can turn a big corner tomorrow," Fundingsland said."In times like this, I think sacred space and sacred community is very, very important," Rabbi Black said."Look at your privileges now, and think of people without these privileges," Imam Kolila said."We're not defeated. Six months after a catastrophic limo crash killed 20 people in upstate New York, a son of the limo company's owner faces a litany of charges.Nauman Hussain has been indicted on 20 counts of second-degree manslaughter and 20 counts negligent homicide, Schoharie District Attorney Susan Mallery said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.Police have described Hussain as an "operator" for Prestige Limousine Chauffer Service, which was owned by his father Shahed Hussain.A felony complaint said the younger Hussain hired driver Scott Lisinicchia, despite knowing Lisinicchia didn't have the appropriate license to drive the limo.The complaint also said Nauman Hussain knew or should have known the modified Ford Excursion had mechanical and safety deficiencies, including some that would have affected the brakes.The limo had failed inspection just a month before the October 2018 crash and "was not supposed to be on the road," New York Gov. Scientists have long warned of the effects of global warming and the possibility of more intense wildfires that burn for longer periods of time. Now, a new team of researchers is hoping to get a better understanding of how the smoke travels and what the tiniest particles could be doing to our lungs. "There's many things we’re still struggling to understand about smoke,” explains Joshua Schwarz, a physicist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The group of researchers includes meteorologists and weather modelers, in addition to scientists. “All together, we are deciding which fires to target," Schwarz says. Amber Soja, with NASA, describes herself as the “fire person” of the group. Every day for the next couple of weeks, this group will create a flight plan, opening the door for another group of scientists inside this flying laboratory. “We've got tremendous range, and we're carrying a tremendous payload of information,” Soja says.This lab was once an Italian passenger airliner. It flies straight into the smoke of fires. "We'll have to look at what's the altitude of the smoke we want to be in, which direction is the smoke going, how far can we track that smoke," Schwarz says.Intake tubes on the outside of the lab bring in smoke particles that will be studied. Researchers are interested in learning how the smoke travels and what it does to our bodies when it’s inhaled. Pete Lahm, with the U.S. Forest Service, says studying the smoke is important because it impacts both public health and safety. “This info will help us make in the long run [make] better decisions on when we ignite fire and how we consider smoke impacts, and that's absolutely critical to our mission,” Lahm says.
