Thus the two countries should seize the opportunities presented by Xi's visit and, by giving full play to their political wisdom, complementary economic advantages and diplomatic expertise, boost mutual understanding and trust, promote win-win practical cooperation, and consolidate the public foundation for bilateral relations.
"FOCAC should be an important moment for Africa because China continues to be a big economic player. Trade between Africa and China has grown and relationships have expanded in a big way," said Siphamandla Zondi, the director of the Institute for Global Dialogue and a member of the South African Council for International Relations.
"Despite the short time span of the visit, the achievements are expected to be fruitful," Li Jun, a senior official of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said at a news briefing regarding Xi's visit earlier.
Speaking at the conclusion of a landmark Summit of the Chinese and African leaders under the auspices of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the Foreign Minister said Beijing was willing to make itself the ideal partner of Africa on achieving its desire to grow economically and politically.
The move came as Chinese Premier Li Keqiang addressed the 18th ASEAN-China, Japan and South Korea (10+3) leaders' meeting in Malaysia, rotating chair of the 10-member bloc this year.
