You can get a low profile," says clinic Marketing Director, Marcell Reyes Vermillion, as he poses for selfies in a bright yellow photo-booth adorned with strings of yellow balls and a yellow shag carpet.The selfie-booth encourages those "cleared for sex" to take a picture for social media."This is a very sex positive message that we're hoping to share with people," said Dr. Susan Little, Professor of Medicine for UC San Diego. "There has been a lot of messaging around disease prevention. And we now have really good drugs, biomedical interventions, to prevent HIV infection among people who are negative. And to prevent transmission among people who are positive." Make no mistake, Dr. Little makes clear the goal is to stop transmission of STDs. Especially HIV among young Hispanic men where cases are still on rise. But Dr. Little says the new approach is to make getting checked an inviting experience, that celebrates health and sex."I think the time as come to let people know they no longer have to worry about disease," says Dr. Little. "We need to try and promote a sex positive, status neutral, sexual health promotion, rather than disease prevention." "Get checked, then you can mate with anyone you want," says Vermillion. Though, with the caveat, you want your partner to get checked too. The Good To Go clinic is funded by an NIH grant and free to those getting tested. (KGTV) — Clark County officials have identified the passenger of a plane that crashed in the Las Vegas area shortly after takeoff to San Diego.The county's Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner says 35-year-old Tyrone Cabalar was killed in the crash on Oct. 29, according to KTNV, ABC 10News' Scripps sister station in Las Vegas. Cabalar was one of two people aboard the twin-engine 1974 Cessna 310R when it went down minutes after taking off from North Las Vegas Airport.The pilot of the plane, which was heading to Gillespie Field in San Diego, has not been identified.RELATED: FAA: Small plane heading to San Diego crashes in Las VegasOn Oct. 29 the plane crashed at about 9:30 a.m. near Raven Avenue and Hinson Street, several miles southwest of the Las Vegas Strip. First responders say the plane struck the wall of a construction site and burst into flames.The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and FAA continue to investigate the incident. 1124

(CNN) -- The homeless population in the US increased 2.7% this year largely because of a surge in unsheltered and chronically homeless individuals in California, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) said in a news release Friday.The study found that 567,715 people across the nation experienced homelessness on a single night in 2019, an increase of 14,885 people compared with 2018. Meanwhile, homelessness among veterans and families with children declined in the year, dropping 2.1% and 4.8%, respectively.The number of people experiencing homelessness dropped in 29 states and Washington, DC in 2019, the news release said. The group coordinates outreach, education, and dialogue regarding bullying, hate incidents, and hate crimes in the San Diego region.With the pandemic and many people at home, the organization’s chairperson said hate speech has increased.“A lot of time, [people] don’t have much else to do, but write and speak their mind anonymously.
