A California high school student has been charged with two counts of battery stemming from a fight involving a Donald Trump "Make America Great Again" cap, according to KOVR-TVCell phone video of the fight shows a Union Mine High School student confronting and yelling at a fellow student wearing a red MAGA hat in support of President Trump. After yelling at her classmate, she reportedly grabbed the hat off his head and threw it on the ground and left the classroom, according to the El Dorado Sheriff's Office.The student later returned to the classroom and again removed the student's hat. The teacher escorted the girl out of the classroom, and she reportedly slapped him on the arm as he led her out. A school resource officer arrested the girl in the hallway. She was taken to a local juvenile detention center and suspended from school, according to KTXL-TV. The girl was charged with two counts of battery, once against the student with the MAGA hat, the other against the teacher."“…student and staff safety is our highest priority and the UMHS administration will continue to cooperate with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office as the incident is being investigated,” the school said in a statement, according to KTXL.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. A coronavirus vaccine created by a collaboration between drugmaker AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford is showing results that it is safe and triggers a similar immune response among adults of all ages, according to preliminary results of their phase 2 study.The findings show the vaccine creates as strong an immune response in those over age 70 as it does in younger adults. 389

A bodyguard for Las Vegas resident and champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was shot on Monday in Atlanta, according to multiple reports.A police spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that it appears that Mayweather's three-vehicle convoy was targeted. Mayweather was not injured in the shooting. The bodyguard, Gregory La Rosa, was shot in the leg. He was treated at a hospital in Atlanta and released. La Rosa has worked for Mayweather since 2014.Mayweather and his group was traveling from a club to a luxury hotel around 2 a.m. Monday when another vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire.Mayweather is in Atlanta to promote his Showtime-televised triplehead in Las Vegas on Saturday night. A Howard County, Maryland fire fighter and first responder wasn’t even working when he risked his own life to save another.  Ryan Glenn said it was just instinct.  Glenn said he was driving along The Chesapeake Bay Bridge when he saw a man threatening to jump.  “I saw the gentleman standing on the railing and he was on the railing holding on to the guardrail,” said Glenn.At it’s center, The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is 180 feet, a dizzying height for anyone. Glenn was off duty, happened to be on the bridge and jumped in to help.“I said hey, there’s a lot of people who care about you.  Let’s not do this, come down and talk.  I’m here for you, I care about you,” Glenn told the distraught man.With the help of two other off duty officers, who just happened to be on the bridge as well, Glenn began the negotiating.“I managed to get closer and closer to him and probably about two feet away from him, I said, just take my hand and let’s get you down from here.”But that’s not what happened. “He looks down at the water and looked at me again and then he did the unthinkable.  He went from the railing of the bridge to a cross member I-beam type of material on the bridge and jumped on it.  At that point, he was just holding on by his grip and his feet were dangling over the water” remembered Glenn.As a trained professional, Glenn was comfortable risking his own life to save another.“At that point, all three of us, it was just like instinct, all three of us, reached over the railing and grabbed him and pulled him over,” Glenn said.“You’re conditioned to it, if you see something wrong, we run to the problem, we try to fix things.”The man was taken to safety and then to the hospital for treatment. 1758

A man "showing homage to the DC comic supervillain, The Joker,'" was arrested after a road rage incident in Tempe, Arizona.Tempe police report that on April 15 near Rio Salado Parkway and Price Road, two vehicles were stopped in the right lane at a red light.A woman was stopped behind an orange Ford Mustang with lime green rims. She honked and flashed her lights signaling the Mustang to go. Instead, the driver, 35-year-old Keith Douglas Casto, pointed a silver handgun at the woman. After both cars made the turn, Casto reportedly came alongside the woman's car, rolled down his window and again pointed the handgun at the woman while she was on the phone with police. "Keep it in the movies. You're not that person and you don't get paid to point a gun at people in real life." said the woman, who is not being identified for safety reasons. "It looked like a gangster gun. No joke. Absolutely not. It's not okay to point your gun at someone."Tempe police officers located a car with the license plate 'AZ JOKER' at a nearby gas station. They found Casto with the same gun in his pocket. Inside the car, police say, was an homage to the 'DC comic supervillain'. They found a 'Joker' flask, a purple cane, an electronic voice changer, fake gold teeth, and joker cards. The silver handgun was also inscribed with the name, 'Joker.'Police are also investigating an incident in February, possibly involving Casto, where a man matching his description pointed a gun at several people in Tempe parking lot. Witnesses described the same car used in the road rage incident.He has been charged with aggravated assault. 1687
