LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -  A thief in a hoodie made off with a haul in La Mesa and the contents of that haul are sparking outrage.Outside her condo just off El Cajon Boulevard, Kathleen put out several bags and boxes right outside her front door Monday morning. "A lot of sweaters and warm winter clothes, a couple pair of shoes and a teddy bear," said Kathleen.Also included: Several throw rugs and some households items. Stuck on each box and bag was a sticky note with the name: Vietnam Veterans of America, the group picking up the donations."They weren't scheduled to come until Tuesday," said Kathleen.So when Kathleen came home Monday afternoon and discovered the donations gone, she checked her Ring camera footage. The video begins with a person in a hoodie, bending down, lifting a box and throw rug, and then running off. Kathleen says the camera wasn't rolling when the other stuff vanished."Really sad they take from Vietnam veterans," said Kathleen.Kathleen comes from a military family, including a brother who served in the Vietnam War."It's heartbreaking. These are people who wrote a blank check to the government with their lives, for our freedom," Kathleen.Neighbors saw the same hooded figure dumpster diving around the same time as the theft. (KGTV) -- The Sheriff's Department is investigating a possible shooting in Lemon Grove. The department confirms a person fired a gun near Albertsons on Broadway Avenue at around 11 p.m. Friday night. LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- La Mesa Police are warning people who own Ford Rangers about a string of recent burglaries. According to the department, the trucks are being targeted for burglary. Since the beginning of the year, eight of the trucks have been targeted by car prowlers - an unusually high number. Detectives say there are no patterns when it comes to how the the thieves are breaking in or what they’re taking.Police advise people who own the vehicles to remove any valuables. LITTLE LAKE, Calif. (KGTV) — A 5.0-magnitude earthquake was reported just outside Ridgecrest, Calif., Thursday.The quake struck about 25 miles north of Ridgecrest, Calif., just before 2 p.m. The earthquake had a depth of about one and a half miles deep, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.According to the USGS' "Did You Feel It?" map, shaking could be felt from as far away as San Diego and Coronado. Responses were also reported from Las Vegas, Nev., the map showed.No injuries or damages to structures were immediately reported.Ridegcrest was hit by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake on July 5. Several aftershocks and earthquakes have been recorded in the region during the month following the massive shakeup. 720
