SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person is dead after being hit and killed by an unknown vehicle in Clairemont on Sunday night.San Diego Police say the pedestrian was in the 4100 block of Ashford St. near Marlesta Dr. when they were hit by a vehicle just after 8 p.m.The vehicle fled the scene. Police are looking for a dark gray or black Dodge pick-up truck. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On this holiday, some extra thanks for a Clairemont family, months after an expectant mother was placed on a ventilator from COVID-19."This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful to be here with my family," said Ashley Duque.That family includes Ashley, her husband Diego, their daughter Anna, 3, and the newest addition, three-month-old Lucas."He came out our miracle baby," said Ashley.The miracle emerged from a pandemic. In March, 17 weeks into her pregnancy, Ashley was hospitalized with coronavirus, before being placed on a ventilator for five days."It was very, very scary," said Ashley.She spoke to ABC 10News from her hospital bed while recovering. Ashley was discharged after more than two weeks, but she would be back for nine different surgeries from complications from the COVID-19 treatment.Most of the surgeries involved removing scar tissue in her throat caused by her time on the ventilator.Then in August, Ashley was back in the hospital, as she went into labor three weeks early."I was nervous and scared," said Ashley.Despite her COVID battle and her other health issues, Lucas Duque was born August 25, weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces. He was healthy."We’re just very blessed that nothing happened to him," said Ashley.On this Thanksgiving holiday, there is a mix of emotions. Ashley is still having issues with the scar tissue, but Ashley and Diego are feeling an overwhelming feeling of gratitude."In a flip of coin, anything can happen. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police officers chased down two drivers in stolen cars, but only one man was arrested early Wednesday morning.According to San Diego Police, officers spotted a BMW that had just been stolen driving down Hotel Circle South in Mission Valley around 2 a.m. They followed the car, which appeared to be following another car, a black Dodge Charger.When officers tried to pull them over, both drivers sped off in different directions.Just when officers thought they lost the BMW, they found it in a Serra Mesa neighborhood. They moved in with their guns drawn and surrounded the car, but no one was inside.Officers eventually found the suspect hiding in a nearby shed and took him into custody.The driver of the Dodge Charger led officers towards Mission Valley, but that car was later found abandoned behind a Verizon store. 847

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are searching for two men suspected in a downtown San Diego shooting spree that left five people injured Monday night.According to San Diego police, the gunfire was reported just after 11 p.m. at several locations in the East Village neighborhood, about three blocks east of Petco Park's tailgate parking lot.The shooting happened not long after the San Diego Padres wrapped up their game against the Washington Nationals at Petco Park.Police said four people were in the 500 block of 15th Street, near Island Avenue, when two men dressed in dark clothing approached the group and opened fire.Moments later, and several blocks from the initial shooting scene, a fifth person was shot in the 1800 block of Island Avenue.All five shooting victims suffered what were considered to be non-life threatening injuries, according to police.Police said the suspected shooters were described as black men between 19-25 years old and 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall. The men were last seen fleeing westbound from the area.A witness in the area told 10News that he heard about a dozen gunshots coming from different locations and two vehicles speeding from the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a woman suspected of shooting a woman in the Southcrest area Monday morning.San Diego police said officers were called to the 900 block of South 39th Street just after 7 a.m. in response to a person injured in a shooting.Officers arrived to find a woman with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, but her condition is unknown as of 10 a.m.Witnesses told police the suspected shooter, a woman, fled the scene in a silver sedan.Moments after the shooting, the California Highway Patrol received a report of a crash on Interstate 805 near state Route 54 involving the vehicle believed to be driven by the suspected shooter.CHP officials believes the suspected shooter may have been injured in the crash but left the scene.Police are checking to see if the woman sought treatment at any area hospitals. 889
