COACHELLA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Another puppy was discovered in a dumpster at Coachella just weeks after a woman was arrested for reportedly leaving seven puppies in a trash can. According to the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation, the puppy was found badly beaten and burned in a dumpster on the 49000 block of Harrison Street around 1 p.m. on May 5. Someone digging through the trash heard the puppy crying and took her to a nearby jewelry store, where she was rushed to an animal hospital. RELATED: Woman arrested after puppies dumped in trash can at Coachella“It appears as if she was burned with a caustic substance, or a metal object like an iron,” the foundation said. The weeks-old puppy also had a portion of her tail cut off and can’t walk due to being beaten. The puppy, whose name is Hope, is currently in intensive care and being monitored 24 hours a day. The foundation is offering a ,000 reward for information leading to an arrest of the person responsible. The incident comes after a woman identified as Deborah Sue Culwell, 54, was arrested for reportedly dumping seven puppies in a dumpster at Coachella. The puppies were only about three weeks old. CNN said Thursday that it had severed ties with contributor Marc Lamont Hill following controversial comments the liberal pundit made about Israel."Marc Lamont Hill is no longer under contract with CNN," a spokesperson for CNN confirmed in a short statement.The move was first reported by the media news website Mediaite.Hill, who is also a professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, made the controversial comments during a meeting at the United Nations held for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Wednesday.In his remarks at that meeting, Hill said "we must advocate and promote non-violence," but added that "we cannot endorse a narrow politics of respectability that shames Palestinians for resisting, for refusing to do nothing in the face of state violence and ethnic cleansing."Hill also called for a "free Palestine from the river to the sea."The comments were immediately condemned by critics who said Hill was calling for the end of the Israeli state.Hill did not respond to a request for comment Thursday afternoon, but in a series of tweets he addressed the issue."I do not support anti-Semitism, killing Jewish people, or any of the other things attributed to my speech. I have spent my life fighting these things," Hill wrote."My reference to 'river to the sea' was not a call to destroy anything or anyone," Hill continued in a separate tweet. (KGTV) -- One person has been injured after a school bus crash on Coronado Wednesday afternoon, police say. According to police, the crash happened on 9th Street and Orange Avenue just after 1:30 p.m.Police say the person injured was riding on the bus which belongs to Coronado Unified School District. The district later put out a statement saying, "no significant injuries" were reported.  436
