James Bates, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific commander, said. “Lt. Walker was an incredible naval aviator, husband and son. (KGTV) - Three San Diego residents were shot to death during a weekend of violence in Tijuana.Multiple Tijuana-based news services said a triple homicide was reported on the morning of Nov. 25 in front of a building in the Lomas Verdes housing complex. When the bodies were found, they each had gunshot wounds to the head.According to news outlet Punto Norte, investigators believe the three people killed were taken from an apartment at gunpoint, forced to kneel and then shot.10News spoke to 23-year-old Katheryn Garcia. She told us her cousin, 17-year-old Christopher Alexis Gomez was among the three people shot to death. Garcia said her cousin is a senior at O'Farrell Charter School (OCS) in Encanto. She said he was a proud starting Lineman for the school's new football team. Last week, Gomez told Garcia that he was going to a barbecue party in Ensenada on Friday with his friend, 18-year-old Juan Suarez Ojeda. Dr. Jonathan Dean, the Superintendent at OCS, told 10News Ojeda wasa recent O'Farrell Charter graduate, class of 2018. Garcia said she has never met the third victim, but knew the teen was Ojeda's friend who lived in Tijuana.Garcia said the three were tortured, likely in a different location, before being shot execution style.Garcia said her family are now left with more questions than answers. Why would Christopher, a boy who had never been in trouble, be killed? Was this a case of mistaken identity? Was he at the wrong place at the wrong time? Who would do this?“They’re monsters. Who does that to three young boys who had their whole life ahead of them," Garcia said in tears. The school set up a GoFundMe page to help Gomez’s and Suarez-Ojeda’s families with funeral costs and other expenses.Further details on the deaths on the San Diegans’ deaths were not released by authorities or news outlets.Four other deadly shootings occurred in the city during the weekend, according to Tijuana news reports. 1940
(KGTV) -- The quest for Black Friday deals had San Diego malls packed Friday. But there were those who beat the crowds by getting their shopping done under the full moon. "We started at like 8:30 [last night]," said one woman shopping with her sister at 4:30 a.m. at the Carlsbad Outlets. The mall had opened their Black Friday event at 6 p.m. Thursday with no closing time until 10 p.m. Friday. That meant those willing to shop all night, had free reign to scour the deals with a lot less competition. "I think the only reason we're here at this time, said the woman, "is because there's no lines. And we can leave our kids at home. They're sleeping while we can shop." Of course, an all night shopping event doesn't happen without workers. "I started last night at 5pm." Said the manager of Joe's Jeans as the clock neared 5:30am. Asked how she was holding up, she replied, "I'm doing good. I'm off in a little bit." "Have a great day you guys." A door monitor at Tory Burch said to two customers leaving the store as she turned to others in line to get in. "I can let two in." High end hand bags and purses, with prices slashed 50 to 75 percent, were selling fast. Other irresistible deals were at the Disney Store. "We've got Princess stuff. We have Toy Story stuff," said one mother sifting through bags of new toys. "It was about 250 dollars for everything in these bags. So, pretty good deal for three full bags of toys." 1567
A "very bizarre" car crash in Canada resulted in the arrests of five people who were found naked after the collision. On Monday, officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called to the scene of a crash involving a car and pickup truck in Nisku, Alberta, according to CBC News.At the scene, officers arrested three adults and two "youths." All five were naked when police caught them, according to the Edmonton Journal. The crash apparently happened after police said the suspects kidnapped three people — a man, a woman and an infant — from a home and forced them into the car. The man, who was apparently locked in the car's trunk, managed to escape the moving vehicle and flag down a man driving a pickup truck.CBC reported that the passerby managed to get all three kidnapping victims into his truck and was driving them away when he was rammed by the suspects, which forced his truck into a ditch.None of the victims were injured in the ordeal. The kidnapping suspects have not been named and it's unclear why they were naked at the scene of the crash. A Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigator described the incident as "very bizarre" to The Guardian. The two underage suspects were released without charges. The three unidentified adult suspects will face charges for kidnapping and resisting arrest, according to the Edmonton Journal. The kidnapping victims and suspects apparently know each other, police told CBC.Clint Davis is a reporter for the Scripps National Desk.
