ABC was in need of a new hit show, and "Roseanne" is the biggest out-of-the-box hit to come along in years.The network's announcement on Friday actually called it an "11th season" renewal -- a nod to the show's roots in the 1990s."We're thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes. KILLEEN, Texas — Officials at Fort Hood say they have formally opened an investigation into allegations that Pfc. Vanessa Guillen was sexually harassed prior to her disappearance.Guillen was last seen at Fort Hood on April 22 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters. She hasn't been seen or heard from since.The announcement comes days after officials at Fort Hood said there was no credible evidence of sexual assault against Guillen.Third Cavalry Regiment commander, Col. Ralph Overland, has appointed an investigating team to look into the allegations. The investigators will gather the evidence and present findings to Overland for review upon completion."I opened an investigation concerning the information provided by the Guillen Family that Pfc. Vanessa Guillen was harassed prior to her disappearance," Overland said in a statement. LA JOLLA (CNS) - A man was seriously injured Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle, which hit a median and rolled over a couple of times, police said.The man, 59, was driving a 2001 Toyota Tundra westbound in the 2500 block of La Jolla Parkway at about 6 a.m. when he experienced a possible medical condition, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, said Officer Tony Martinez of the San Diego Police Department."The vehicle veered to the left and struck the raised concrete median," he said. "The vehicle rolled over a couple of times and came to rest in the westbound No. 1 lane, facing east."The driver sustained a spinal fracture and he was taken to the hospital.Traffic Division officers responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation, Martinez said. 789

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Charles Evers, the older brother of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers and a longtime figure in Mississippi politics, has died in Mississippi. He was 97. A coroner says Evers died of "natural causes" Wednesday in Brandon. Medgar Evers was a Mississippi NAACP leader who was assassinated outside his Jackson home in 1963. Charles Evers in 1969 became the first Black candidate since Reconstruction to win a mayor's race in any multiracial town in Mississippi.
