BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday issued the Position Paper of the People's Republic of China on the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations (UN), expounding on China's position and proposals on various issues, including the UN's role, the international situation, sustainable development and cooperation on COVID-19 response.
The United States, always declaring that it upholds democracy and freedom and respects human rights and privacy, recently imposed unreasonable restrictions over and cracked down upon Chinese telecom businesses on the pretext of "data security of U.S. citizens," and even intended to take away the assets of a Chinese tech firm by force and trickery, the spokesperson said.
In a letter to Xi, 18 CEOs of the Global CEO Council said China, under Xi's strong leadership, has rapidly contained the coronavirus epidemic, taken the lead in resuming work and production, and played a positive role in supporting the global COVID-19 fight and maintaining world economic stability.
Xi also said he hopes that the Uruguayan side would play an active role in promoting the free trade cooperation between China and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), the development of China-Latin America relations, as well as the overall cooperation between China and Latin America.
