SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers and police investigators announced Tuesday a reward to find a woman suspected of identity theft and using fraudulent credit cards at Walmart. The woman opened two separate credit card accounts at the Murphy Canyon and Grossmont Center stores Dec. 18, according to the San Diego Police Department’s Economic Crimes Unit. The woman bought ,500 worth of items at each store. Police said the woman also tried to open fraudulent credit accounts at a Marshalls and Target store in Kearny Mesa, but was unsuccessful. The woman later went to a Chase Bank and took nearly ,000 in cash from the bank account of a victim whose identity she stole, police said. The victim’s credit monitoring service notified her of the fraudulent activity. Investigators believe the suspect is using a fake identification card using the victim’s basic information. The victim doesn’t know how the woman obtained her personal data, police said. The suspect, who is white and in her mid 20s to late 30s, was wearing a dark-colored wig while at the bank. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego Police are investigating after a woman who was shot in Barrio Logan Friday night died.Police were called to the 2400 block of Harbor Drive around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a woman, later identified as 36-year-old Stephanie Kinman, who was shot in the area.When they arrived, officers found Kinman on the sidewalk near a vehicle.The Kinman was taken to the hospital where she later died.Throughout their investigation, detectives learned that the woman was shot near a pizza restaurant on the 1000 block of Dewey Street before being driven to Harbor drive by a “male companion.”The man told investigators that the victim got into a fight with a man and a woman. After the fight ended, Kinman was shot while getting into her car, police say.The shooter hasn’t yet been captured. The proposal, from Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, is part of a plan to stimulate the economy as the coronavirus outbreak continues to lead the nation toward a recession. The checks, which could be upwards of ,000 or more, could come in April and May. The money could help San Diego workers who are seeing their hours reduced or jobs eliminated get by while efforts continue to flatten the curve.
