BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Monday, co-chaired the fourth meeting of the intergovernmental committee of cooperation with Belarusian first deputy prime minister Nikolay Snopkov via video link.

The meeting called for continued efforts to encourage intra-Party democracy, act on the Party's democratic centralism, broaden and improve the orderly and effective participation, as well as respect and safeguard the democratic rights of Party members.

With these goals in mind, Xi said China is ready to continue strengthening international exchanges and cooperation in education, scientific, and technological sectors, and expressed the hope the board members could offer their insights and advice for China's development.

Liu said the letter fully demonstrated the importance attached to sci-tech innovation and building a strong maritime country by the CPC Central Committee and clarified the direction of the deep-sea sci-tech work.

Stressing that the two associations should resolutely uphold the CPC leadership and socialism, Wang noted that the associations should also educate and guide the religious figures and believers to firmly build national, legal and civic awareness.
