Gavin Newsom has admitted that he should not have attended a birthday dinner with a dozen people, as critics slammed the move as hypocritical.Newsom attended an outdoor dinner at The French Laundry in Napa County on Nov. 6, according to the Associated Press. The party, which included 12 people including Newsom and his wife, was held to celebrate the 50th birthday of the governor's political adviser Jason Kinney.In a statement to The San Francisco Chronicle, which first reported on the party, Newsom said he should have set a better example as many Californians battle virus-fatigue amid an increase in coronavirus cases.California prohibits indoor or outdoor gatherings of more than three households as part of its COVID-19 guidance.Monday, Gov. (KGTV) — Disneyland cast members, fans, and local officials rallied outside of Disneyland to call for California to reopen shuttered theme parks throughout the state.Demonstrators, with signs in hand blurring the line between Disney quotes and calls for action, gathered on Saturday to demand Gov. Gavin Newsom announce guidance for Disneyland and other theme parks to reopen amid the pandemic."If Disneyland is open world-wide then why can't Disneyland in Anaheim be open," one employee told KABC. "I think the governor needs to give us a chance to reopen and they keep asking and he keeps pushing the bar farther back."This month, Disney announced it plans to lay off 28,000 employees partially because of California's reluctance to reopen theme parks. The parks have been closed since mid-March when many coronavirus closures began.The guidance was reportedly set to be released soon in September, until Newsom said that the state will take its time before issuing rules."We are going to be led by a health-first framework and we’re going to be stubborn about it," Newsom said earlier this month. "That’s our commitment — that’s our resolve. We feel there’s no hurry putting out guidelines."Newsom added, "it’s very complex. These are like small cities, small communities, small towns. (KGTV) — A woman was charged with lying to federal agents after she was able to sneak past security at Mar-a-Lago with a thumb drive containing "malicious malware" last weekend, according to a Florida criminal complaint.Yujing Zhang, 32, lied to Secret Service agents and made it deep in President Trump's Florida property before it was discovered that she was not on the property's access list, according to ABC News.She was caught with two Taiwanese passports, four cellphones, and a thumb drive containing the malicious malware, the complaint says.Zhang reportedly told agents she was asked by a Chinese friend to try and discuss foreign policy with a Trump family member, ABC News reported. The president was not at the club during the incident.Zhang has also been charged with entering restricted grounds.An investigation by the Secret Service is ongoing.ABC News contributed to this report. 905
