Make sure you know just where to go.If you're attending to Comic-Con from July 17 to July 21, you have several options for parking, public transportation, ride sharing, or shuttling in and around downtown San Diego. The closure affects vehicles, bikes, skateboards, and dockless bicycles and scooters.Those on foot in the area will need a Comic-Con badge to access the convention center's front drive, adjacent terraces, and sidewalks.Detour and access mapCOMIC-CON SHUTTLEComic-Con is providing a free shuttle for those staying in Mission Valley and downtown. Shuttle stops will also stop near the airport and Shelter and Harbor Islands.Shuttle service begins July 17 at 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. and again July 18 - 20 from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. the next day, and July 21 from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shuttle services runs between every 15 to 30 minutes.Unlike years prior, the shuttle will not run 24 hours a day. While drivers will have to use their own discretion where to drop off passengers, riders can help by knowing where closures near the convention center are located, and directing where best to drop-off.And above all, always check that your ride-share driver is your intended driver. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- For students in the 3D printing club at Westview High in Poway whose goal was never to hit the 'print' button, they've come a long way."It feels really amazing to know the 3D printing club is helping those who are in need."Victor Ku is president for Westview High's 3D printing club that started up this past year.When the club started, their mission was purely educational. They wanted to create a curriculum and teach people the basics of 3D printing because they didn't have the money to actually print anything."It can be very expensive and super confusing at first which is why we believe all these limitations shouldn’t restrict one from getting the opportunity to learn its such an amazing tool."Then when March came around, Victor said "we were back to square one. We didn’t really know what to do and we realized we need to quickly pivot towards the communities needs and in this case it was face shields or personal protective equipment."That's when the team of young and aspiring engineers got to work and finally hit 'print'."We took a small break and waited for all the design and the actual professional engineers to perfect the design before we started mass producing these face shields," Victor said.They've donated about 400 face shields to five different organizations, and are some of the youngest people to make a difference."We’ve distributed them to hospitals, hair salons and post offices to name a few. That little bit could definitely help save any lives."With things easing up, Victor said they want to widen their distribution list. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Higher than usual tide will crash along San Diego County's shores this weekend as king tides roll into the coast.King tides are expected to pound San Diego's coastline between Jan. 10 to 12 and again Feb. 8 and 9. The naturally occurring high tide happens when there is an alignment of the gravitational pull between the sun and moon, according to the California King Tides Project.While the outcome produces amazing imagery and scenes of ocean water splashing over shorelines, it can be hazardous at times. King tides during stormy weather have the potential to cause damage or flooding to coastal communities.FORECAST: Latest 10News weather forecast for San Diego CountyOutside of bad weather, locals should still be careful when getting close to the high tides. Tides can also take a toll on areas of San Diego's coast experiencing erosion.Saturday, king tides are expected to bring tides as high as 7-feet in the morning, according to tidal charts. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Despite the still-high cost of living, San Diego’s housing market is beginning to cool down, according to a new report by Zillow. San Diego ranked third on the list of housing markets seeing the biggest slowdown. San Jose and San Francisco, two markets also known for their high costs of living, places first and second on the list The report shows that conditions in San Diego’s market are favoring buyers more than they did a year ago. RELATED: Home prices rise, sales plungeMore than 20 percent of homes for sale in America’s Finest City had a price cut in January of 2019, compared with only 12.4 percent of homes that saw a cut in January of 2018. Of the homes that have sold, 95.7 percent sell for their listing price. At this time last year, 97.7 percent of homes sold for their list price. The amount of time it takes to sell homes is also on the rise. In 2018, homes sold in 60 days, including time to close, Zillow reports. So far this year, homes are selling in 75 days. In comparison, the national median is just 5,300. “It is no surprise that the markets which pushed the bounds of affordability over the housing recovery are now experiencing significant cooling,” said Skylar Olsen, Zillow Director of Economic Research. “As down payments and mortgage payments far outpaced incomes, buyer demand eventually exhausted itself. Those buyers looking in cooling markets will likely welcome the relief, although the entry price is still high.
