UNIVERSITY CITY (KGTV) - A man led police on a short vehicle pursuit, before crashing into a canyon and running away. The pursuit started just before 9 p.m. Sunday night on Genesee Avenue and Governor Drive. The man was parked in a vehicle blocking a driveway to a business, according to San Diego Police. He was running up and down the street and took off in a vehicle when police arrived. Police pursued him for about 10 minutes, before he crashed into a canyon near the end of Governor Drive and Travers Way. The man immediately got out and ran into the canyon. According to police, the driver is a Hispanic male in his late 20s, 5'8", with a shaved head, short sleeved shirt and hoodie, and gray shorts. 730

Vice President Mike Pence is heading to Louisiana just as the state is re-emerging as a national hot spots for the coronavirus. He's scheduled to meet Tuesday with Gov. John Bel Edwards, members of the congressional delegation and state health officials to talk about Louisiana’s response to the pandemic. Tropical Depression Thirteen formed over the Atlantic late Wednesday night, and according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) the storm is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Laura on Thursday.Thirteen is about 830 miles east-southeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, according to NHC’s 8 a.m. update. Verizon just admitted that the value of its media brand, Oath, is essentially worthless.Verizon announced Tuesday that it would take a .6 billion writedown on its the media unit, which includes Yahoo and AOL.Oath's brand value is now worth just 0 million, according to Verizon. That's a stunning decrease in value since it formed in 2017. Verizon said Oath's brand was worth .8 billion when it last accounted for the company's goodwill valuation.Verizon snapped up a number of legacy media brands in recent years to create Oath. It bought Yahoo for .5 billion in 2017 and AOL, which owns HuffPost, for .4 billion in 2015.With virtually no goodwill brand value, Oath's overall value (assets and goodwill) is now worth half of what it was a few years ago.The telecommunications giant said the integration of Yahoo and AOL didn't meet expectations.Oath "has experienced increased competitive and market pressures throughout 2018 that have resulted in lower than expected revenues and earnings," according to a filing with the SEC Tuesday.
