After threatening to shut off city utilities to homes in Los Angeles violating coronavirus pandemic public health orders, the mayor has taken action twice so far. Both houses reportedly continued to hold large gatherings or parties despite rules limiting group sizes to limit the spread of the coronavirus. On Tuesday, Mayor Eric Garcetti authorized city employees to shut off service to a home after its owner and residents held multiple large parties. The home is in the Cahuenga Pass area, near Hollywood Hills.https://twitter.com/MayorOfLA/status/1300905954666360832Los Angeles police responded to the home on August 24 after reports of a large gathering, according to the LA Times, and officers posted warnings on the property. The house hosted another large gathering on Sunday. The mayor then authorized services shut off.On August 5, Mayor Garcetti said he would authorize crews to shut off city water and power to homes that violated city rules limiting gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic. The first home to have their utility service disconnected was on August 19 in the Hollywood Hills area. In a tweet, the mayor said the action was taken “to stop the large parties held there in flagrant violation of our public health orders.”https://twitter.com/MayorOfLA/status/1296203922911027200The rental home was reportedly being used by Tik Tok stars Bryce Hall and Blake Gray, who are now facing charges. Alan Bean, the fourth person to walk on the moon and the last surviving member of the Apollo 12 mission, died Saturday in Houston, according to his family and NASA. He was 86."Alan was the strongest and kindest man I ever knew," his wife, Leslie Bean, said in a statement. "He was the love of my life and I miss him dearly." She added he died "peacefully ... surrounded by those who loved him."The retired astronaut fell ill two weeks ago while traveling in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the statement said.Born on March 15, 1932, in Wheeler, Texas, Bean was a test pilot in the US Navy when NASA selected him and 13 others in October 1963 for training to become the third group of NASA astronauts, according to the family obituary shared by the space agency. His first mission to space was in November 1969 as a member of the Apollo 12 crew, the second to land on the moon, it said. He became the fourth man -- and one of only 12 in history -- to walk on the moon.Bean also commanded the second crewed flight to the first US space station Skylab in July 1973."In total, Bean logged 69 days, 15 hours and 45 minutes in space," the obituary said, "including 31 hours and 31 minutes on the moon's surface."After retiring from the Navy in 1975 and NASA in 1981, respectively, Bean became an artist and focused his energy on painting artistic impressions of the moon landing.According to NASA, Bean based that decision on his nearly two decades of experience as an astronaut "during which he visited places and saw things no artist's eye had ever seen firsthand. He said he hoped to capture those experiences through his art."The-CNN-Wire 1632

After a brief flirtation with resurrection, Nickelodeon's "Double Dare" is back -- for real, this time. The game show favorite will return to the network this summer to give "a new generation of kids the chance to compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives," Nickelodeon announced Wednesday. The decision to bring the series back comes about a year and a half after Nickelodeon paid tribute to the game show with a 30th Anniversary special."Double Dare" ran on Nickelodeon from 1986-93 and was revived for brief run in 2000.The original show was hosted by Marc Summers and co-hosted by Robin Marella. It is not yet known who will host the new iteration. Though, Nickelodeon said the revived series "will feature appearances from blasts from the past, long-time 'Double Dare' fans and stars from today."On "Double Dare," two teams compete against each other for prizes by answering trivia questions and completing some often-messy physical challenges, all culminating in a run of the show's kid-friendly obstacle course. (Think: human hamster wheel and a giant gunk-filled nose.)A specific premiere date has not been announced.The-CNN-Wire 1183

After a long morning of job interviews in Anderson, South Carolina, in 2007, Kevin Sherman prepared to board his airplane back to Michigan, where he was about to graduate from Michigan State with a mechanical engineering degree. He chatted with his fellow job interview candidates in the boarding area about other job opportunities. As he got settled on the plane, his seatmate said he had overheard his conversation. “He said, ‘I’m an engineering manager,’” recalls Sherman, and the two struck up a conversation. “He interviewed me for two and a half hours,” Sherman says. Within weeks, Sherman, now 33, had accepted a formal job offer with the company, where he ended up working for four years — even meeting his wife there — before moving on for another opportunity. As Sherman’s experience shows, the conversations you have on planes can change your life. Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, you can increase your chances of turning a casual conversation into a job interview by learning from people who have done just that. We spoke to three people who turned a plane ride into a networking session. Here are their tips. 1161

Adidas has voluntarily recalled kids’ swimwear products of the Infinitex 3-Stripe range due to the stripes coming off and them possibly leading to injuries.According to the company, they have received customer reports that the three stripes on the swimwear might come off unexpectedly when in contact with water, which pose a potential safety risk to children as the stripes might get caught on objects or other children outside or inside the water and become entangled, potentially leading to injuries. No injuries have been reported to date. The swimwear, worn by children up to and including the age of 14, were sold as part of the 2017 and 2018 collections in both, youth and adult sizes through adidas.com, Adidas retail stores and at authorized Adidas dealers globally. The affected swimwear products come in several color combinations, has the Adidas 3-stripes trademark grafted on both sides of the swimwear and has the words 'made in Tunisia' on the label. Additionally, one of the following serial numbers is printed on the inside of the products: 1115
