A man on a motorcycle is accused of robbing a Mesa, Arizona drive-thru, then riding the wrong way through traffic to escape from police.Mesa police report that on April 5, 43-year-old Kevin Dean Hendrickson approached a McDonald’s drive-thru window near Power Road and Southern Avenue. Witnesses allegedly recorded Hendrickson pointing a handgun at two employees, demanding money.  A Mesa police officer located Hendrickson near Higley Road and Main Street, where he reportedly was seen riding westbound in the eastbound lanes of traffic. Hendrickson abandoned his motorcycle near 52nd Street and Greenway Road, where he was found by a nearby homeowner, hiding in his closet. Hendrickson fled the home, leaving behind his helmet and gun, and taking the resident’s hat and shirt. He was later located by another homeowner, hiding in his trash can. Police soon located and arrested Hendrickson.He has been charged with armed robbery. 979

A Ferguson city councilman appears to have defeated the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney who oversaw the controversial grand jury inquiry into the 2014 police killing of unarmed black teen Michael Brown in a Tuesday primary, according to unofficial election results.Wesley Bell would replace Robert McCulloch, who took office in 1991. A former public defender and municipal court judge, Bell, who is black, ran as a reformer and pledged to end cash bail, "create a task force to identify factors leading to wrongful convictions" and increase transparency in the system.McCulloch was criticized for his handling of the investigation into Darren Wilson, the white officer who shot Brown after a brief altercation on a Ferguson street. Wilson was never charged in connection with the case, which eventually touched off a Justice Department probe that accused the police department of systematic racial bias.There is no Republican candidate in the race, so Bell would be all but assured of taking over from McCulloch when his term ends. The unofficial election results show Bell defeating the 7-term incumbent by more than 13 points, with nearly 57 percent of the vote.Bell told The New York Times in an interview before the primary that if he had been in the job after Brown's killing, he would have appointed a special prosecutor."The relationship between the prosecutor's office and law enforcement is so close," he said, "and therein lies the definition of conflict of interest."In a series of tweets after the election results came in, activist DeRay Mckesson, who became a national figure during the Ferguson protests, cheered McCulloch's apparent ouster."Shout-out to all of the activist and organizers who led the grassroots effort to get Wesley Bell elected," he wrote. A California police officer was charged Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting at an Oakland-area Walmart store in April.San Leandro Police Officer Jason Fletcher was charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with an incident where he fatally shot 33-year-old Steven Taylor on April 18.According to the Alameda County District Attorney's office, a security guard at the store called police when Taylor tried to leave San Leandro Walmart with a baseball bat and a tent without paying.Fletcher responded to the call and approached Taylor as he entered the store. The officer tried to grab the baseball bat from Taylor, and when he couldn't get control of the bat he drew his stun gun.After firing the stun gun, Taylor stumbled forward with the bat sitll in his hand. According to body camera footage, Fletcher repeatedly asked Taylor to drop the bat. Fletcher then fired his gun once, a shot that proved to be fatal.In its charging statement, the District Attorney's office, claimed that Taylor "posed no threat of imminent deadly force or serious bodily injury" to the officers or anyone else in the store because he had "clearly experienced the shock of the taser as he was leaning forward over his feet and stumbling forward."Fletcher's lawyer, Michael Rains, told the San Francisco Chronicle that he was "very disappointed" that the officer had been charged and that the charges were "undeserved."The decision to file the criminal complaint was made after an intensive investigation and thorough analysis of the evidence and the current law," Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley said.Lee Merritt, an attorney for Taylor's family, told NBC News that Taylor was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the shooting.Fletcher will be arraigned on Sept. 15 at a county courthouse in Dublin, California. 1845

A brutal attack on a McDonald's drive-thru worker in Michigan has the victim speaking out against her attacker."He drove up and I opened the window halfway to take his money. He shot me with a paintball gun and drove off," the victim said. She also recalls that the customer's weapon closely resembled a real handgun. The entire terrifying ordeal still has her in shock."It wasn't like I was being nasty or anything. I just took his order and he wasn't satisfied with the answer he had got," she says. It happened at 1:30 am, at McDonald's in Dearborn, Michigan at Michigan and Gulley.The shooter is described as a black male in his 30s, heavy set with a hat, driving a late model black colored Ford Crown Victoria. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. However, she hasn't decided if she'll return to work at McDonald's.  870

A Chardon police officer showed off his moves Friday night when he joined the school's dance team for an 80s dance routine.School Resource Officer Mike Shaw posted the video to YouTube on Saturday.The clip shows Shaw step out onto the basketball court, slip on a pink tie and bust a move with students to several 80s hits."What better way for an officer to spend time with the kids...while entertaining the community," Shaw said. 442
