SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A third Marine has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus at MCAS Miramar.The Marine is currently quarantined at his home, MCAS Miramar officials told 10News.Navy medical staff is investigating anyone the Marine may have had contact with, as well.No further information on the base's third case was immediately released.Last week, a Marine tested positive for coronavirus after returning from leave in Washington state where he was visiting family. Then Saturday, the base confirmed a second Marine tested positive for the virus.Those two Marines are currently in isolation and quarantined in an empty barracks that was designated to treat potential cases of COVID-19.MCAS Miramar is currently a quarantine site for individuals evacuated from Wuhan last month and passengers aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship. Those quarantined passengers are being treated by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention staff.The two Marines who had contracted coronavirus last week did not have any contact with cruise passengers, according to the base. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Sorrento Valley startup company has a plan to bring Coronavirus testing to your door.Mobile Xpress Clinics is offering on-site testing for businesses and their employees."I don't want my employees going to an emergency room," says founder Rolf Muller. "They have to go to an area that's safe, which can be controlled and there are not a lot of unhealthy people. And that is the key."Muller and his wife, Judy Muller-Cohn, created the mobile testing lab while looking for a way to get their own employees tested. They run a cancer diagnostic company and wanted to make sure their workers had easy access to tests.The clinic is a van, fully equipped with testing supplies, PPE, and everything needed to transport the tests back to a lab for analysis.Muller says they can set up within 15 minutes in a parking lot, and it only takes about 3 minutes per person to complete the test.Results come back within 24 hours."We can bring it to schools. We can bring it to church congregations. We can bring it to supermarkets. We can bring it to every single company where people work together," he says."If we control communities, the people who interact with each other all day long, then we can control the virus outbreak."Muller says companies should test their employees every two weeks. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An apparent SDG&E scam reported by a North County couple turned out to be an actual warning to evacuate, just not for them.The power company is calling a recent interaction with a Poway family a "misunderstanding," after the family believed they had been scammed by someone posing as the company.The Chavez family told 10News this week they received a phone call from someone saying they worked for SDG&E, telling them they needed to evacuate their home while work was being using a helicopter.The message said, “it requires a helicopter. The helicopter is required from the FAA to have certain properties, like yourself, evacuate the home.”ORIGINAL STORY: Family urging San Diegans to be aware of a possible new SDG&E scamAfter calling SDG&E to confirm, they were told there was no work going on in their area. The family believed they had been scammed. But it turns out, the phone call was true — for a different neighborhood.According to SDG&E, FAA does require residents to leave their homes when work is being done in their area requiring a helicopter and special construction.However, when the Chavez family called SDG&E, they didn't use the number the original caller provided. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A thief with a U-Haul truck and young accomplice made off with a haul at a home in Rancho San Diego.Sue Sobke and her husband returned to their home on Calle Deposito Saturday night and found their patio sliding door shattered. "Just a violation. A lot of fear and panic," said Sobke.Inside, two rooms were ransacked. The jewelry box in her bedroom was emptied of hundreds of pieces. Many of the piece were sentimental, one in particular. Her father, a World War II veteran, bought her mother a gold ring while in China after the war. Both of her parents have passed. "Felt close to her ... means my mom and how much I loved her. How much my dad loved her ... now it's gone," said Sobke.Her mission to get it back could depend on a piece of surveillance video. The video shows a U-Haul truck making a turn near her home. Neighbors spotted it parked in front of her home. "They saw a man in my backyard, in his 40s, fit and wearing a hat," said Sobke.Sitting in the truck was a boy about 12 years old."A neighbor saw the boy in the truck listening to music. He waved at him and drove off," said Sobke.Whether the boy was used as a lookout or diversion, Sobke can only shake her head."It's clever. I'll admit that. No one would suspect a young boy waiting for his father. It's horrible, training him," said Sobke.The training may not be over. Detectives told Sobke that a U-Haul truck has been seen near other break-ins in the area.
