SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are searching for two men suspected in a downtown San Diego shooting spree that left five people injured Monday night.According to San Diego police, the gunfire was reported just after 11 p.m. at several locations in the East Village neighborhood, about three blocks east of Petco Park's tailgate parking lot.The shooting happened not long after the San Diego Padres wrapped up their game against the Washington Nationals at Petco Park.Police said four people were in the 500 block of 15th Street, near Island Avenue, when two men dressed in dark clothing approached the group and opened fire.Moments later, and several blocks from the initial shooting scene, a fifth person was shot in the 1800 block of Island Avenue.All five shooting victims suffered what were considered to be non-life threatening injuries, according to police.Police said the suspected shooters were described as black men between 19-25 years old and 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall. The men were last seen fleeing westbound from the area.A witness in the area told 10News that he heard about a dozen gunshots coming from different locations and two vehicles speeding from the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - People looking to sell their home may be leaving thousands of dollars on the table by not renovating before listing, mainly because money is tight during the Coronavirus pandemic.Now, a San Diego-based company wants to help.Renovating Lives will pay for renovations up front to increase the value of a home before it sells."A lot of the people that we help are in horrible financial situations," says CEO Greg May. "They're they're they're stuck with being taken advantage of by vulture investors."May's company works with the homeowners on a renovation plan and then covers the costs.Homeowners pay the company back when the house sells, along with financing and administrative fees."There are 10s of thousands of properties out there that need work, that are deferred maintenance or just dated," says May. "If people had to sell them as is, they would be leaving 10s of thousands of dollars on the table."May says his company can typically increase a home's value by an average of 5,000.That's what happened with owner Bill Stutzer. After his wife passed away, he wanted to sell his 5-bedroom home as is, listing for around 0,000.But a smaller house across the street sold for nearly 5,000 after some renovations. Stutzer didn't know what to do with his home until he called Renovating Lives."I didn't want to do anything," he says. "I was just going to leave my house, as is, and try and sell it, and soon realized that wasn't going to I wasn't going to cut it... It turns out that if you put a little bit upfront and and get some things done it, it magnifies the bottom line."May's company helped Stutzer redo his home from the inside out, with new flooring, paint, doors, lighting and more. It would up selling for 0,000."My reaction was, wow, this is a modern house. This house could be in a magazine. I absolutely could not believe it. I couldn't believe my eyes," he says.May says Stutzer's home is a best case scenario, but he wants to give hope to others in a similar situation."I want more people to understand there is hope out there, you don't have to sell your house for pennies on the dollar to a profiteer," says May. "I will help you fix up that house and put the cash in your pocket."May says this is especially important now, as people may decide to save money during the pandemic by not renovating before selling. He says its best to take advantage of the housing market while it's still high."Don't wait until it's too late, until they burn through their nest egg, and they're in foreclosure and their credit's being hurt," he says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- New information from the Census Bureau shows that San Diego’s housing growth isn’t keeping up with our growth in population.Within the year spanning between July 1, 2016, and July 1, 2017, San Diego saw its population increase by nearly 13,000 people.According to the Census Bureau, though the population has increased, the number of new homes being built is actually slowing down.When you compare housing growth between 2000 and 2007 and housing growth between 2010 and 2017, San Diego County saw a major decrease in growth of new housing. San Diego was also ranked the 11th most populated city in the United States, according to the new data. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police have identified the man stabbed to death in a Pacific Beach bathroom this week.San Diego Police said officers were called on Sunday to a public restroom at 700 Grand Ave. to reports of a man who had been stabbed. Nearby lifeguards and firefighters were the first to arrive and started providing first aid to the man.Police said the victim, 39-year-old Michael Wagley, had puncture wounds to his upper torso and was taken to a nearby hospital, but died of his injuries. Police said Wagley was new to the San Diego area and had no established residence.RELATED: Man fatally stabbed in Pacific Beach bathroom, San Diego police sayAfter police arrived to the scene, several witnesses reported the suspect fled after the stabbing. A man matching the suspect description, later identified as 33-year-old Martin Alvarez, was detained in the area and later arrested for murder.Police are still investigating the events that led up to the stabbing and a possible motive. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than 2,000 people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer started the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk in San Diego Friday.One year ago, Leslie Heiser got the news she never expected to hear: she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of treatment, doctors have declared her cancer-free. What started as simple motivation to get through tough days turned into what she believes will be a life-changing experience.The walkers participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event will cover 60 miles in three days. All are doing it for different reasons: some walking in memory of loved ones, others showing support for those battling cancer. And my biggest cheerleader from treatment to surgery. Those moments when you really need someone you can depend on, rely on, my rock," said Heiser.Each participant raised more than ,000 to do the walk.
