(KGTV) - Dreaming of a big win in the Powerball lottery? San Diego offers ample opportunities to spend that 0 million jackpot. With so much cash to burn, an oceanfront luxury home would barely make a dent in your bank account. Sotheby’s realtor Eric Iantorno says one option for new multi-millionaires is a historical home in Del Mar with a modern interior. Set on more than 5,200 square feet, the house has a prime location near shops and restaurants. You could enjoy a vanishing-edge pool, rose gardens, and patio space for entertaining. Parking, always a problem in Del Mar, is no longer an issue with room for nine cars. The price on the home is ,500,000 - not that price is much of a concern if you take the 6.5 million cash option for your lottery prize. RELATED: Del Mar modern home built in historic buildingNow that you have the home of your dreams, you need a sweet ride. An unscientific survey of 10News employees resulted in a unanimous choice for extravagant automobile: the McLaren. 10News reached out to McLaren San Diego on La Jolla Boulevard to see what makes the British sports car so desirable. The team cited “pioneering technology” and a “beautiful yet purposeful design”. “Buying a McLaren is the start of a journey and the bespoke capabilities will entice your imagination,” according to sales representative Fernando Sustaeta. RELATED: Historically lucky spots in San Diego to buy a lottery ticketAll buyers are welcome. “McLaren’s are made for the Elite, not the Elitists,” the dealership reported. You’ll certainly need an elite bank account balance to purchase a luxury vehicle. The McLaren Sports Series start at 1,100 and the Super Series sell for a minimum 8,845. When the need to get away from your amazing car and home strike you, why not sail away in your yacht? Denison Yachting has dozens of luxury listings including the Excellence. You and 11 of your best friends can have their own berths on the tri-deck motor yacht. Sail away from your (relatively) impoverished past on a large sundeck with outdoor dining, jacuzzi, sky lounge, and game table. The Excellence is 150’ with features including marble flooring, a Murano glass chandelier, and a sculpted waterfall theme on the upper deck. It’s even rated for helicopter touch-and-go operations. At ,495,000, the yacht can be yours. Now that we’ve shared a few options for spending your lottery winnings, what would you buy next? 2440
(KGTV) — Are you "Good to Go?"It's a name, question, and a badge of honor being offered by a new STD testing clinic run by UC San Diego in Normal Heights. For those who remember the TV show, the decor is a bit "Dating Game." Or perhaps "Austin Powers." Along with a feature you've likely never spotted in any health clinic."You can touch, you can create. You can get a low profile," says clinic Marketing Director, Marcell Reyes Vermillion, as he poses for selfies in a bright yellow photo-booth adorned with strings of yellow balls and a yellow shag carpet. The selfie-booth encourages those "cleared for sex" to take a picture for social media."This is a very sex positive message that we're hoping to share with people," said Dr. Susan Little, Professor of Medicine for UC San Diego. "There has been a lot of messaging around disease prevention. And we now have really good drugs, biomedical interventions, to prevent HIV infection among people who are negative. And to prevent transmission among people who are positive." Make no mistake, Dr. Little makes clear the goal is to stop transmission of STDs. Especially HIV among young Hispanic men where cases are still on rise. But Dr. Little says the new approach is to make getting checked an inviting experience, that celebrates health and sex."I think the time as come to let people know they no longer have to worry about disease," says Dr. Little. "We need to try and promote a sex positive, status neutral, sexual health promotion, rather than disease prevention." "Get checked, then you can mate with anyone you want," says Vermillion. Though, with the caveat, you want your partner to get checked too. The Good To Go clinic is funded by an NIH grant and free to those getting tested. (KGTV) -- A proposition that would give more power to local governments over rent control has failed. Proposition 21 would have allowed counties to apply rent control to housing more than 15 years old, with the exception of some single-family homes.Single-family homes owned by people with no more than two properties would have been exempt under proposition 21.Those in support say it’s the change needed to combat homelessness and keep people in their homes. Those opposed say it will make the housing crisis worse. 525
