CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Crews were able to stop the forward rate of spread after a fast-moving brush fire sparked in Campo Sunday afternoon. According to the agency, the fire started around 1:30 p.m. in the area of I-8 and Old Highway 80. Cal Fire originally said the blaze had a rapid rate of spread with structures threatened. Crews later said the forward rate of spread had been stopped at 1.5 acres. CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. -- There were no survivors from a plane crash Thursday night in Carroll County, according to Indiana State Police. The Cessna 441 went down around 7:30 p.m. local time in a field near Carroll County Roads 500 West and 600 South, just north of Rossville.The plane took off from Eagle Creek Airport in Indianapolis at 7:21 p.m., according to flight records. It was headed to Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin.At 7:39 p.m., data shows that the plane was between 18,000 feet and 28,000 feet when it disappeared off radar, sources told Scripps station WRTV in Indianapolis. Shortly after, multiple people called 911 in Carroll County, reporting a plane down. People who live in the area who heard the crash say it sounded like thunder.First responders had trouble finding the wreckage at first because it was so dark and far back in a field. They eventually used ATVs and other off-road vehicles to access the area. WRTV learned that there were at least three people on board.There is no word on what caused the plane to go down. Officials with the FAA and NTSB are expected to arrive on the scene Friday morning to begin their investigation.  1275

California, get ready for nonstop flights to Hawaii on Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines announced on Thursday that four California cities will serve nonstop flights to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu (HNL), Kahului Airport on Maui (OGG), Lihue Airport on Kauai (LIH), and Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA). Southwest Airlines plans to fly to those Hawaiian cites from Oakland Metropolitan Airport (OAK), San Diego International Airport (SAN), Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF). The Texas-based airline plans to sell tickets to Hawaii sometime in 2018. The service plans are pending FAA approval.  743

(KGTV) -- Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was discovered on a Carlsbad hiking trail Monday morning.Carlsbad police were called to the Hosp Grove Trails, near the Buena Vista Lagoon and in the 2600 block of Monroe Street, shortly before 11:30 a.m. after someone reported the discovery of a body in the area.The deceased woman, believed to be 65 years old, has not been officially identified.ABC 10News learned police are investigating the incident as a suspicious death. Police said the woman was found with an unspecified head injury.Police did not release further details on the investigation, including why it is considered a suspicious death. 695
