Protests broke out in Atlanta early Saturday, hours after at least one Atlanta Police officer shot and killed Rayshard Brooks, 27, outside a Wendy’s late Friday.In the wake of Friday's shooting, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the resignation of Police Chief Erika Shields. "It has become abundantly clear that over the last couple weeks in Atlanta is that while we have a police force full of men and women who work alongside our communities with honor respect and dignity," Bottoms said, "there has been a disconnect with what our expectations are, and should be as it relates to interactions with our officers and the communities in which they are entrusted to protect."Body worn or dash cam video of the incident was released to the public late Saturday. Video circulating on social media reportedly of the incident shows a man grabbing a stun gun from police during a struggle and running from officers. The video shows officers then shooting Brooks as he tried to flee.“The (Georgia Bureau of Investigations) is aware that there is video posted on social media captured by witnesses in this incident. We are reviewing the video & the early investigative information in this case. We’ll provide an update as soon as we can,” the agency said Saturday morning.The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said that officers responded to a call of a man who fell asleep behind the wheel in a drive thru. The police accused Brooks of failing a field sobriety test.Police then claimed Brooks struggled with officers during the arrest. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said that officers then fired a Taser at Brooks.Eyewitnesses told investigators that Brooks then struggled with officers over the Taser, and that’s when at least one officer shot Brooks.Brooks was transported to the hospital, and he died during surgery.Atlanta has been the site of a number of large protests in recent weeks in the wake of the death of George Floyd. Floyd died on Memorial Day in police custody after a Minneapolis police officer held a knee against his neck for nearly nine minutes.The NAACP reacted to Saturday's shooting via Twitter. "Stop urging the black community to be patient as our people are being gunned down by those sworn to 'protect and serve.' (KGTV) - A small plane crashed Monday on its approach to the Ramona Airport.The Cessna 210 was inbound to the airport at 2450 Montecito Road at 12:48 p.m. when it declared an emergency, Federal Aviation Administration officials said.The plane, which had departed from Gillespie Field, reportedly had engine failure. It crashed in the grasslands near the runway.Cal Fire crews at the scene reported the two people on board the plane were not injured. The plane did not catch fire, Cal Fire said.The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate, according to FAA officials.Ramona Airport operations continued as normal at 1:30 p.m. 669

Prosecutors rested their case Monday afternoon in the trial against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.This comes after 10 days of testimony from 27 witnesses. The defense has not indicated if it will call any witnesses to the stand.Prior to the prosecution resting, a bank official testified that the Federal Savings Bank gave Manafort million in loans and knew that he lied about his financial situation before they were approved by the bank's chairman.James Brennan, a vice president of Federal Savings Bank, said he faced so much pressure from his bank's chairman about Manafort's ability to borrow the million that he lied on a form reviewed by federal regulators and the bank's directors about the stability of the loan."If I had my recommendation ... the loan would not be made," Brennan said in court Monday.Brennan, who wrote a memorandum about a second .5 million loan the bank extended to Manafort, said he had given the loan a rating of "4." But in court Monday, he said he shouldn't have done that.A very stable, high-quality loan would get a rating of "1," and any rating less than "4" wouldn't get approved and would draw regulators' attention because of its instability, he said.When asked by prosecutors why the loan received a 4 rating, Brennan said it was because of "Mr. Calk," referring to the bank's founder, Stephen Calk."It closed because Mr. Calk wanted it to close," Brennan said, referring to one of the loans.Last week, the jury heard testimony that Calk approved the loans as he sought Manafort's help in getting a high-ranking position in the Trump administration.Brennan also said he and his colleagues documented their concerns about Manafort's personal finances. Information about Manafort's company's income, his unpaid debts from his Yankees season ticket and undisclosed mortgages on his other properties in New York raised red flags internally at the bank, he added.Brennan was the 27th prosecution witness to testify against Manafort in the first major test in court for special counsel Robert Mueller, who is currently leading an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.Manafort has been charged with 18 tax and banking crimes. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.Prosecutors pulled up an email that Brennan sent to colleagues who sat on the bank's loan-approving committee in September 2016. President Donald Trump sought to distance himself from the Justice Department official he just named as acting attorney general in the face of mounting criticism about the legality and propriety of his appointment."I don't know Matt Whitaker," Trump said of the new acting attorney general, saying he hired him because he had worked for since-dismissed Attorney General Jeff Sessions. "He was always extremely highly thought of, and he still is. But I didn't know Matt Whitaker. RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - Piles of chicken carcasses, swarms of flies, and a horrendous stench are what neighbors around a Ramona egg ranch say they're struggling with daily. However, the County of San Diego told Team 10 that the ranch has fixed the problems. Yet neighbors say that's not true and if anything, it's gotten worse. The family that owns the ranch claims it's always working to ensure it's in full-compliance with the County's requirements. "We're actually getting whole limbs, chicken legs, skulls, and wings with the feathers still on them," says neighbor Sue Elliot. She describes for 10News all the waste that birds and other predators have swooped up from the huge Demler Brothers Egg Ranch and dropped around nearby homes. "You can smell it for a couple of miles down that way and down that way," adds neighbor Tony Lee. He explains that the stench comes from mounds of chicken manure on the ranch. Elliot adds, "They cover the tops of all of [the mounds] with shredded chickens and it's just red. It's just a sea of red." Neighbors sent 10News pictures that they say were taken last October, before the County did an inspection in November, after getting a complaint about dead chickens and manure. The photos show what neighbors say is raw, red meat, dumped on pile after pile, accessible to a bird or insect. "You've got to think, what disease is it carrying," Elliot asks. "It just depends on what kind of bacteria is cooking in that pile ya know? We don't know," says Lee. The ranch declined an on-camera interview but sent us this statement: “We are a small, family-owned, multi-generational farm that has always worked closely with San Diego County to ensure we are in full-compliance with all county regulations and requirements. We began our farm in 1974 when the area was very rural with more farms than homes. As is the case throughout California, as rural areas become more urbanized, new residents move to the area and demand changes to the way farmers and farms operate regardless of the impact those changes have on the farm or the rural lifestyle which drew the homeowners here in the first place. We are proud of our farm, and we will strive to be good neighbors as we continue our right to farm.” The County tells 10News that it issued a written notice after finding piles of composting ground chicken carcasses were not covered up enough to prevent flies and birds from getting in and flies were breeding. The ranch was also issued a violation notice and a warning letter related to its use of pesticides. The County now says the issues appear to have been resolved and the ranch told the County its taking new steps to minimize odors. Neighbors don't buy it. "I feel like I'm just about getting the run around," says Lee.In 2013, neighbors were concerned after a video surfaced that showed a worker at the ranch chasing hens, swinging at them with a stick. When hens stop producing as many eggs, they are routinely euthanized. In the case of Demler Brothers Egg Ranch, the hens were gassed with carbon dioxide, which is an accepted method. However, not all of the hens died.So, the worker's apparent solution was to use a stick. The ranch said it was outraged to discover its hens were mistreated by an employee of a third-party company. The ranch says that individual was terminated by the vendor.568Neighbors say that now the ranch has been disposing of waste irresponsibly, harming the environment.
