CINCINNATI — The FBI and a handful of police departments are working to verify a boy's story that he was abducted years ago, with police in Illinois saying he may be a boy who's been missing since 2011.Timmothy Pitzen is also the name of an Aurora, Illinois boy who has been missing since 2011. He was 6 at the time and would now be 14.The child told police he was being held in a Red Roof Inn somewhere in the Cincinnati area, but couldn't say which one, according to the police report. He said he escaped and kept running. He apparently crossed a bridge into Kentucky, the police report states. The boy described the kidnappers as two white males with body-builder type builds. One had black curly hair and was wearing a Mountain Dew shirt and jeans and had a spider web tattoo on his neck. The other was short with a snake tattoo on his arms. They were driving a white newer model Ford SUV with yellow transfer paint, Wisconsin plates and a dent on the left back bumper.An FBI spokesperson in Louisville said they're working with Newport, Kentucky police, Cincinnati police, the Hamilton County (Ohio) Sheriff's Office and Aurora, Illinois police on a missing child investigation.Multiple police agencies said they'd been told to check Red Roof Inns in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Workers at several area hotels said authorities had spoken to them and/or requested their guest lists.Law enforcement sources close to the investigation said they're working on positively identifying the boy. Employees for the online retailer Wayfair say they plan a walkout from company headquarters Wednesday in protest of the company selling furniture to migrant detention facilities.According to a woman identifying herself as an employee of the company, Wayfair employees learned last week that an order for about 0,000 worth of bedroom furniture was placed by BCFS, which operates migrant facilities for the Department of Health and Human Services. BCFS is set to open a new facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, which will accommodate about 1,600 unaccompanied minors.More than 500 employees sent a letter Friday to senior management, asking the company to no longer do business with BCFS. They also asked Wayfair to establish a code of ethics that "empowers Wayfair and its employees to act in accordance with our core values." CNN has seen a copy of the email sent by employees to Wayfair senior management."The United States government and its contractors are responsible for the detention and mistreatment of hundreds of thousands of migrants seeking asylum in our country — we want that to end," the employees said in the letter. "We also want to be sure that Wayfair has no part in enabling, supporting, or profiting from this practice."Wayfair management responded in a letter to employees, also obtained by CNN, saying it still plans to do business with BCFS."As a retailer, it is standard practice to fulfill orders for all customers and we believe it is our business to sell to any customer who is acting within the laws of the countries within which we operate," the Wayfair's leadership team said in the letter. DELTA, Colo. – On the Western Slope of Colorado – like many other communities across the country – sits a county where coal mining has employed thousands of people for the past century. However, in the past decade, multiple mines have shut down. Mateusz Pena is an engineering manager with Delta-Montrose Electric Association – a rural not-for-profit cooperative. He says coal energy production isn’t cost competitive anymore. “A lot of times they have to take this coal and rail it out on trains and get it to wherever it’s going. Somehow that’s not as economical as it used to be,” said Pena. The loss of employment and training opportunities hit the community hard. Science teacher Ben Graves says coal mines were the primary trade pathway for students in the area for generations. “Coal’s advantage was that it was cheap. It might be a little dirty, but it was cheap. Now, coal’s not as cheap,” Graves said. When the mines shut down, many families packed their bags to find opportunity elsewhere, but others are embracing the change. “There’s definitely a national trend in wanting to engage students in more project-based learning that’s authentic," Graves said. "That’s not just ‘hey let’s do a project for the sake of learning a concept’, but ‘let’s actually address a problem in our community or school.'” As the coal industry continues to decline, renewable energy is rapidly growing. “It’s an emerging industry right now and it’s going to continue to be more and more prevalent,” Pena said. Students now have the chance to play a role in a different type of energy production; students at Delta High School are part of a Solar Energy Training Program led by Graves. In addition to teaching students about general renewable energy work, they’re learning how to install, design and maintain solar arrays through hands-on experience. And at the end of the class, they get a vocational certificate as a solar electric installer. “Everybody knows math and English, but this is a trade skill that we are one step further knowing than most people,” said Delta High School Senior Hannah Philman. Philman and her classmate Xavier Baty both have family that have worked in the coal mines. Even though his grandfather died from a lung disease caused by long-term exposure to coal dust, Xavier says he thought he wanted to continue his family’s coal-mining legacy. But then he was forced to try the solar program. “Even though I didn’t want to be in it, I love the fact that I’m still in it because it teaches me about things I would have never known about. I would have probably gone off to the mines and ended up like my grandpa,” Baty said. Now, Baty says he could see himself working in the renewable energy sector. Both he and Philman say they love the collaborative nature of the solar program and the hands-on work outside. Graves is now designing a program that other schools across the nation can use. As the renewable energy industry grows, the goal is to provide a workforce ready to support it.“As economies change, rather than being reactive, it’s more it’s being proactive.
