Two moms wanted a safe place to get their young children involved in the protests calling for police reform and racial equality. So, they created a group called Tiny Activists ATL, where their children could speak out in their own way.“We are tiny people, demanding for a change,” said Addison Carroll, who isn’t even 10 years old yet.“We just want to make our voices heard,” said tiny activist Sawyer Tinguely.These pint-sized protestors have a big mission. “We want to see that everybody can be treated equal so that everyone can make a change,” said Carroll of speaking out about voting rights.From marching the streets to going to the polls, these future voters understand how the system works. Even though they’re not of age yet, they want to be involved.“What Black Lives Matter means to me is that black people can go outside and not feel bad because of the way they look,” said Carroll.“It means that all lives are equal. All people are the same,” said 7-year-old Tinguely.These kids want reform, especially after the death of George Floyd.“What I saw on that video was horrible,” said Carroll. When asked how watching the video of George Floyd’s arrest made her feel, Carroll stated, "Betrayed. Police officers are supposed to protect us, not harm us."“I think it’s pretty rude of that person who killed him to be mean to him just because he used counterfeit money,” said Tinguely.The group gathers each weekend, and their youthful activities, like drawing with chalk or making signs, comes with a discussion about real-life issues facing families today. “We’re planning to go to more protests. We’ve already been to like 10 so far. It’s actually pretty fun,” said Sawyer.“Our goal is to get our kids educated,” said mom Mary Williams. Williams and fellow Atlanta mother of three, Fran Carroll, started the group to make sure their children understood the unrest happening in their community.“This is what we stand for as a family,” said Fran Carroll. “This is the side we’re choosing to stand on in history. We’re going to stand on the right side."If these tiny activists can teach us anything it’s simple: standing up for what you believe is has no height requirement, and wisdom doesn’t always come with age.“A person any age could just change the world,” said Tinguely.Carroll and Williams hope their families and this group will inspire others around the country to do the same with the young kids in their neighborhood. 2442

Two people were found dead in a South Euclid, Ohio home early Saturday morning following a 12-hour standoff tied to the investigation of a Beachwood, Ohio doctor who was found shot to death on Thursday.Around 7:30 p.m Friday, SWAT converged on a second house belonging to Dr. Richard Warn in the 4300 block of Elmwood Road to serve a warrant with homicide detectives. Warn was found dead the previous day inside his Beachwood home on Brentwood Road.SWAT officers made entry into the residence using an armored vehicle and were met with gunfire. Authorities retreated and over the next 12 hours attempted to make contact with the people inside. On Saturday morning SWAT entered the house and found two white males dead inside, police said.The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is processing the scene for evidence.Police said the two men were persons of interest in the doctor's death. Their identities have not been released, and it's not known how they died.Watch the press conference regarding the SWAT standoff below: 1052

Vice President Mike Pence and the second lady, Karen Pence were among the first Americans to receive an initial dose of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, and did so in a live on-camera event at the White House. Surgeon General Jerome Adams also received the COVID-19 vaccine during Friday's event.Prior to injections, doctors asked the trio a series of questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms, allergy history and histories of blood disorders. After the three answered "no" to all questions, healthcare professionals from Walter Reed Medical Center administered the vaccine."I didn't feel a thing. TUCSON, Ariz. — A nationwide scam claims you'll be arrested because you missed jury duty and you'll have to pay right away to escape it. You might think you can spot a gimmick a mile away, but a Tucson businesswoman fell for it last week.At the start of Denise Hausler's busy workday as a licensed professional counselor, she received a call that went to voicemail. The man identified her by name."Hello, Ms. Hausler, this is Sgt. Adam with the Pima County Sheriff's Department warrant and citation division," the caller said. "Ma'am I'm calling in regards of an ongoing civil matter, ma'am."Hausler called him back right away. The imposter told her there were two federal warrants out for her arrest. Hausler panicked, fearing she would be arrested at her office in front of her clients."And he said, 'We're going to send someone to arrest you unless you volunteer to come down to the sheriff's office off of Benson Highway,' which made sense because the sheriff's office is off of Benson Highway," she said.The caller told her if she drove down to the sheriff's department right away, she can post bond then appear before a judge who will probably give her the money back."I'm panicked, I'm crying, I'm literally thanking this man for helping me not be arrested and being able to go home and not be detained and apologizing," she said.And he told her she can't get off the phone with him or talk to anyone."'We're going to track you by phone until you get to this location because we don't want you to flee,' and I'm believing this," she said.Minutes later, the caller instructed her to first buy My Vanilla cards from Walmart — five of them — totaling ,500 because the payment system was down at the sheriff's department and those specific cards are used for these types of cases.And she believed him. "I know, I know," she said. "In retrospect, I think, who am I? It doesn't even sound real. But when you're in it, he was so intimidating and so direct and telling me, 'We're going to come and detain you.' " She bought the cards. The scammer then told her to read all the card numbers to him to verify they're valid.She did, but at that point she became suspicious and asked a stranger to call the sheriff's department."And the man said, 'You're getting scammed. You need to get in there an undo your cards,' " she said.But it was too late. She could only recover less than a ,000. Hausler wanted to share her story because the scam can be very believable."I just don't want other people to fall for it. If you hear 'My Vanilla,' now I know the sheriff's department does not come to get you if you did miss jury duty. I didn't know that," said Hausler.KGUN called that same phone number left on Hausler's voicemail and it's the same voice saying it's the Pima County Sheriff's Department. These con artists used a spoofed phone number.The Arizona Attorney General says legitimate government offices will not threaten you with imprisonment or demand that you pay a debt immediately.    Law enforcement and courts in southern Arizona have also been warning people not to fall for it.The Arizona Superior Court in Pima County has received several recent reports of jury service scams in Pima County.
