COLOMBO, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) --?The Chinese government has donated 500,000 U.S. dollars to the Maldives government to speed up repairs in a desalination plant and restore water to the capital, an official said here on Sunday.

The visit, she said, will ensure that "our relations with China remain central to realizing our developmental agenda through our foreign policy."
The U.S. carrier Dynamic Airways will fly the route in chartered flight until the end of March next year when it will launch a regular twice-a-week flight, he said.
