(KGTV) - Solana Beach is one of San Diego County's most expensive places to live, but it has no affordable housing.Now, the City Council may pursue turning a part of the City Hall parking lot into a 19-unit mixed-use affordable housing complex. The council could vote Wednesday to issue a request for proposals for development of the site, with the hopes of selecting a company to build it by September. City Hall, by the way, is across the street from steps that lead to its famous beaches. "It'd be like winning the lottery," said Christian McDonough, one of the hundreds of people who work in Solana Beach's tourist-facing businesses, but can't afford to live there. "If you're in the service industry, you're most likely not living in Solana Beach."This would be the city's second attempt to add affordable housing. In 2014, the council approved a 10-unit complex called The Pearl, down the block from City Hall. Six people were shot Sunday afternoon about half a mile away from TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.The shooting occurred at a laundromat at A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and Pippin Street.Currently, there is no suspect in custody but authorities believe the shooter was in a gray or silver four-door vehicle, possibly a Nissa Altima or Maxima. Authorities also said the shooting may be gang-related.The Jaguars are playing the Houston Texans today. The shooting will not impact the game. SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Some residents at a mobile home park in Spring Valley had to leave Monday morning after a sinkhole opened up nearby. According to San Miguel Fire, the incident happened of the 10000 block of Jamacha Road. The sinkhole grew to roughly the size of a children's pool. A car parked in a driveway could be seen dangling over the hole. At this time, it’s unclear what exactly may have caused the sinkhole. Managers of the mobile home park say they’re considering sending a family of five forced to evacuate to a hotel while repair work is done. 579
