SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are asking that additional victims come forward in a San Diego sexual assault case. According to police, Seth Roberts, 18, was arrested on December 5 for multiple sexual assaults around San Diego County that happened between early October and late November. Based on the circumstances of the cases, the San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit is looking for additional victims or anyone with information. According to police, Roberts reportedly identified himself to young women and befriended them by telling them he’s from out-of-state before sexually assaulting them. According to public records, Roberts was previously arrested in Oklahoma for harboring a runaway child felon. Records also show that in April of 2018, a permanent protective order was issued against Roberts in Oklahoma. The order was filed on behalf of a 16-year-old who says Roberts inappropriately touched her even after she asked him to stop. The protective order goes on to say the victim's mother wanted criminal charges filed, but none are listed. He is currently being held on ,250,000 bail. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Naval Medical Center San Diego has been selected as one of a handful of sites to participate in a coronavirus vaccine trial.The medical center will participate in phase III trials for vaccine candidate "AZD1222" developed by AstraZeneca, according to the Department of Defense. The trial is looking for participants who are at the greatest risk of the coronavirus, including:Working in an essential job, such as healthcare professions, emergency response personnel, grocery workers, meat-packing plants, restaurant staff, public transit, etc.;Living in densely populated residential environments;Living or working in congregated living facilities such as correctional facilities or nursing homes; and/orA member of a community that has been hardest hit by this pandemic, such as older persons, persons with underlying health conditions, and racial/ethnic groups such as African Americans, Latino, and Native American populations.RELATED: UCSD to participate in national COVID-19 clinical trial, looking for volunteersThe trial is part of Operation Warp Speed, which intends to have a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine and therapeutics by 2021. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On the edge of Balboa Park, parkgoers arrived Wednesday to a fresh layer of graffiti across a popular playground area.Joanne Schara leads a boot camp class at Bird Park at Upas three times a week. After a year of working out there, the things that drew her are now awash in graffiti. "It's just sad to see. You come here because you want a happy space. People bring their kids. People bring their pets. Its beautiful," said Schara.The tagging is everywhere, from the tables and benches and the wall wrapping around the playground area to utility boxes and graffiti on the ground."Doesn't give a good image at all," said Schara.Cathy Lea has lived in the neighborhood for 40 years and takes her dogs to the park twice a day."When I see the graffiti, it's disheartening," said Schara.Lea says every few days, there is more graffiti. On the concrete wall that surrounds the park, there are countless layers of tagging that have been painted over, only to be tagged again."That's not what this park is about," said Lea.On the Nextdoor app, some longtime neighbors posted the current graffiti is the "worst they've ever seen." Lately the graffiti has started to creep into areas previously untouched, including the playground set and the nearby rocks. As the tagging spreads, so does the frustration."It's not the kind of message we want to be sending in North Park," said Lea.Several neighbors have posted on the city's Get It Done app to get it cleaned up. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who drove into a woman using a motorized chair in Central San Diego.On Dec. 9, just before 4 a.m., San Diego Police say 62-year-old Gloria Williams was riding her motorized mobility device in the left lane of the 100 block of Euclid Avenue, heading northbound. It's not clear why Williams was traveling in the roadway in the Lincoln Park area.The driver of a dark-colored SUV collided into the back of Williams and continued to drive northbound, according to police. Williams died at the scene.Police said they were able to retrieve some details of the suspect's vehicle using optical sensors from nearby Smart Street Lights. The street lights also captured the suspect stopping at a nearby gas station.Gas station surveillance footage showed the suspect, a black man wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers hooded sweatshirt and checkered pants, enter the gas station using a cane.Police are now asking the public for help to identify the suspect. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — On Monday, a planetary sight unseen for nearly 800 years will captivate stargazers as Jupiter and Saturn create a celestial event known as the "Christmas Star."The two bright planets will align to create an even brighter display, culminating on the night of Monday, Dec. 21, according to NASA. While the two planets pass each other regularly, this year's event is so rare because not only is the distance between the planets so close but it's also occurring at night."You can imagine the solar system to be a racetrack, with each of the planets as a runner in their own lane and the Earth toward the center of the stadium," said Henry Throop, astronomer in the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington. "From our vantage point, we’ll be able to be to see Jupiter on the inside lane, approaching Saturn all month and finally overtaking it on December 21."The closest alignment will last for a few days and appear just a tenth of a degree apart. On Monday, Jupiter and Saturn will appear so close that a pinkie finger at arm’s length will easily cover both planets.The planets haven't passed this closely in 400 years, and it's been nearly 800 years since this "Great Conjunction" has occurred at night, NASA says."Conjunctions like this could happen on any day of the year, depending on where the planets are in their orbits," said Throop. "The date of the conjunction is determined by the positions of Jupiter, Saturn, and the Earth in their paths around the Sun, while the date of the solstice is determined by the tilt of Earth’s axis. The solstice is the longest night of the year, so this rare coincidence will give people a great chance to go outside and see the solar system."HOW TO SEE ITIn San Diego County, viewers can see the planets without needing a telescope by looking toward the southwest horizon just after sunset, NASA says, but a pair of binoculars or a small telescope will only enhance the view. The best way to see the phenomenon is by finding an unobstructed view of the sky from say a park or field. The sight should even be viewable from most cities, but the site will only be visible after sunset for about one to two hours.To tell the two planets apart prior to Monday when they switch positions in the sky, Jupiter will look like a bright star and be easily seen, while Saturn will look slightly fainter and slightly above and to the left of Jupiter.For photographers, NASA recommends using a long exposure time to take in enough light as it gets dark. Both cell phone camera and DSLR camera users are encouraged to use a tripod to reduce any shaking during a long exposure.Cell phone users may even want to use "night mode" or a wide-angle lens if available. DSLR users may consider setting their focus to manual and leaving their aperture wide open to let in as much light as possible.Jupiter and Saturn should be bright enough to allow photographers to capture the planets without needing to zoom, NASA says.
