BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Thursday that the Chinese people are ready to stand together with the Sudanese people in their fight against COVID-19, and offer support and assistance within its capacity.
China will also make efforts to maintain the stability and competitiveness of the country's industrial and supply chains and ensure the full completion of the poverty eradication target on schedule, said the meeting.
The country has recorded a long streak of bumper years, with grain output reaching a record of 663.85 million tonnes last year. With measures to boost grain production "we have the confidence and determination to hold firm our 'rice bowl,'" Pan Wenbo, an official at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, told a press conference.
By March 31, 65 such press conferences under the mechanism had been held, with officials of 69 departments having answered 779 questions raised by Chinese and foreign reporters at the conferences, according to the timeline.
