A gunman and three female hostages were found dead at a military veterans home in Northern California on Friday night, officials said, a grim end to a standoff that lasted nearly eight hours.Shortly before 6 p.m., officers stormed into the room where the gunman had held the hostages at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, said Chris Childs with the California Highway Patrol.They found the gunman and the three hostages dead, he said. A college football player from the College of Wooster in Ohio died on Sunday, after he was transported to the hospital following a game on Saturday. Clayton Geib, who was an All-Conference offensive lineman from London, Ohio, died at the age of 21. Geib was a three-year starter for NCAA Division III Wooster, starting in 33 games. According to the college's athletic department, Geib was transported to the hospital on Saturday after complaining that he did not feel well. The cause of his death is unknown. "Clayton was a wonderful student and member of the College of Wooster community, and beloved by many," said Sarah R. Bolton, Wooster's president, "Our hearts are breaking, and all our prayers and thoughts are with Clayton's family, teammates, and friends."Wooster is located Northeast Ohio. Geib's death is the second among college football players in the area this year. In June, freshman Tyler Heintz died following football conditioning drills at Kent State. Heintz's cause of death was ruled as hyperthermia by a coroner. It was later discovered that Kent State employed a conditioning coach who could not produce proper credentials.  1230

A high school teacher in Tennessee is under investigation by Nashville Public Schools officials following a recording students made in her classroom in which she uses profanity and seems to berate kids with foul language.The recording was made last week inside McGavock High School. It shows the teacher telling her kids "I have better things to do than to tell you whether or not you can go to the mother f--- bathroom, that’s not my job. If you have to pee you should be able to get that done without me. I don’t give a f--- about your bladder."MNPS officials say the teacher involved admitted to the behavior. In the seven-minute clip, the teacher seems to be venting many of her frustrations about the class."Everyone can make an 'A' in my class. Show up with a pencil and paper, when I write you write. I don’t know why you have not caught on to that since August," she can be heard saying.At one point she tells the students, "You gonna get somebody pregnant, and then you’ll be like ‘the system is against me, they want child support,' well maybe you should keep your dick in your pants."Students who were in the classroom at the time of the outburst say they alerted school officials but no action was taken against the teacher."Being a teacher is very stressful but I feel like opinions like that you should keep it to yourself.
