The event, held Saturday and Sunday July 13 and 14, will take place at Balboa Park’s Marston Point on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street. Festivalgoers can enjoy performances from more than 100 entertainers on multiple stages, food booths, vendors, and exhibits. General admission is for a weekend pass, with discounts available online before the event. Teens and children high-school aged and younger can get into the festival for free. Tickets are available at the front gate box office when the festival is open. The following items are banned from the festival: Air Horns Alcohol Bicycles, Skates, Scooters or Skateboards (Store your bike at our free bike storage!) SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - SeaWorld San Diego is offering free admission to veterans and their family members starting Monday. The park admission is good for veterans and up to three guests. SeaWorld has a similar offer for active-duty service members.“My son is a military veteran who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I’m not only proud of his service, but of all those who have worn the uniform of our country,” said Marilyn Hannes, SeaWorld San Diego’s park president. “We genuinely appreciate the sacrifices they’ve made to protect our freedom and are once again offering them free admission to the park. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — SDG&E announced Fire Safe 3.0 innovations to advance wildfire safety at its headquarters in Kearny Mesa Tuesday.It's the power company's plan to use more advanced technologies to improve wildfire safety. Instead of using weather data updated every 10 minutes, they utilize data updated every 30 seconds instead. SDG&E's chief meteorologist explained they're using artificial intelligence-based models that make weather data more accurate and they're monitoring more than 500,000 trees in the area using a "Vegetation Risk Index."It helps determine how those trees might impact power lines or become fuel for fires. SDG&E also announced plans to open a Fire Science and Innovation Lab next year. 734
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SeaWorld San Diego is making Halloween “Spooktacular” this year.Starting Oct. 2, park guests can don their favorite costumes and take part in physically distanced activities such as Cookie Decorating with Cookie Monster and Elmo, Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt, and the all-new Sesame Street Halloween Dance Party.And what would a Halloween celebration be without candy? Candy will be available for all guests and be delivered through special candy chute for safe trick-or-treating.The park’s Spooktacular event will be held Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Nov. 1. As an added bonus, through Nov. 1, kids age 3-9 get into the park for free with one full-paid adult admission.Park officials said: “Annual Pass Members and Fun Card holders also receive FREE admission to Spooktacular and must make a reservation to visit the park.
