Doorbusters have been replaced with delivery, and early store hours are now early-season discounts. COVID-19 has infected Black Friday.Less than one-third (32%) of holiday shoppers plan to do the majority of their gift shopping in-store this year, down from 37% last year, according to NerdWallet’s 2020 Holiday Shopping Report. Many retailers responded by offering early holiday shopping specials with low-price guarantees to encourage you to buy now without the worry of missing a better deal later. What are Black Friday 2020 store hours? For those of us who want to do some in-store shopping on Black Friday, here are the currently announced store hours, in local time. The all-knowing, all-seeing Google now has a price comparison engine allowing you to see if the price you’re offered on a product is “high, low or typical” compared with other prices online and in local stores.Google will also compare shipping costs and options, as well as nearby curbside and in-store pickup. There’s a notification function to let you know when a better price becomes available. Here are a few other online Black Friday shopping tips:The supply chain has had its share of roadblocks this year. To mitigate potential delays, online shoppers should place their orders as soon as possible.Online flash sales are frequently occurring, and though the prices are often incredible, many of these events feature items in minimal quantities. Avoid disappointment: Prepare to see an “item sold out” message almost as soon as the discount starts.Browse Amazon’s coupons page for deals you may have previously missed. On the day we checked, the discounts were modest, but that may change as we approach Black Friday. Some coupons may be valid only for Prime members. And remember, Cyber Monday is still on the calendar following Thanksgiving week, just in case you still have room in your budget for some additional holiday shopping.More From NerdWalletHow to Get the Best Apple Black Friday 2020 DealsIPhone Black Friday 2020 Deals: Are They Worth It?Cell Phone Black Friday 2020 Deals: Are They Worth It?Hal M. A short while later, the driver plowed into the restaurant. It's not clear why the officers were attempting to stop him.The driver tried to run from the scene following the crash, but officers were able to arrest him. Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday that he thought that a fellow White House staffer's attempt to discredit him in a USA Today op-ed was "bizarre" and urged others in the administration to stop public partisan bickering about the pandemic. In an interview with The Atlantic, Fauci called the infighting "nonsense" and urged the administration to "reset.""When you look at the numbers, obviously, we've got to do better. We've got to almost reset this and say, 'Okay, let's stop this nonsense,'" Fauci said.Fauci's comments were published a day after the White House's top trade expert, Peter Navarro, published an op-ed in USA Today in which Navarro claimed that Fauci had been "wrong about everything." On Wednesday, both President Donald Trump and the White House said that Navarro did not receive clearance to publish the column. Trump said in an interview on Wednesday that Navarro "shouldn't be doing that.""Well, that is a bit bizarre. And I have to tell you, I think if I sit here and just shrug my shoulders and say, "Well, you know, that's life in the fast lane ..." Fauci said, according to The Atlantic.Fauci later said that he "can't explain Peter Navarro," adding that "he's in a world by himself."Fauci also told The Atlantic that he had spoken to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows about Navarro's column and told him that he felt it was detrimental to the president. Fauci added that he did not receive an apology from Meadows.Once a fixture at daily Coronavirus Task Force Briefings and on cable news, Fauci has been notably absent from national television in recent weeks — though he appears to make regular media appearances on internet streams and podcasts. When asked if the Trump administration was limiting his media appearances, Fauci told The Atlantic that he couldn't comment, "but I think you know what the answer to that is."Fauci also said in the interview that he and Trump haven't had a one-on-one talk "in a while," and that his input goes "through the vice president."Earlier this week, Trump told reporters that he continues to have a "good relationship" with Fauci.Polling shows that Fauci, who has served as the head of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases since 1984, has become one of the most trusted administration officials when it comes to giving advice amid the pandemic. He's broken with Trump on several aspects of the administration's response, including school reopenings and testing. 2464

EL CAJON, Calif. — A transgender woman is suing an El Cajon gym over the use of gender-specific locker rooms.“My weight went from 340 pounds to 195 pounds,” Christynne Wood said. She says that weight loss is attributed to the water aerobics classes she has been taking at Crunch Fitness for the last eleven years. Not only did it help Wood shed the pounds, she also shed an old identity.“I lived so many years presenting myself as a male. Because I knew that is what was expected of me, and I didn't want to make others uncomfortable. The whole time, Christynne is inside Christopher going ‘I’m suffocating, please don’t let me die,'” Wood said. Wood says she has identified as female since childhood. But she did not begin her transition from male to female until July 2016.Just two months after starting hormone therapy, she says a male gym member began to harass her.“The individual comes over to me, and says something untoward, and make a threatening gesture and walks in my direction,” Wood said. Terrified, Wood says she ran out of the men's locker room and told management. At first, she was led to the upstairs men's room, where there were fewer members than the women's facility. But she claims the harassment continued."I still must transit through the place where the assault took place to get to and from the pool for my workouts, so what have you done for me?"Days later, she brought a letter from her endocrinologist, explaining her transition and asking gym staff to accommodate her in the women's locker room. Last February, she legally changed her name and gender. But Woods says it took another seven months for Crunch to finally allow her to use their women's facilities."I thought I had friends in management that so totally understood me. When that was betrayed, how would you feel?"Wood says continued years of alleged harassment and neglect for her well-being led her to sue Crunch Fitness."It makes me cry that it had to get to this degree,” Wood said. “Nobody wants to sue anyone. Nobody does anything or pays attention until somebody hurts or inconveniences them and then they realize the magnitude and depth of what they’ve done wrong.”But she says this civil case is bigger than Christynne Wood.“I’m getting some form of justice, but it’s not just about me. There’s a whole sisterhood out there is being abused and marginalized. I don’t ever want this to happen to any of my T-girl [Transgender-girl] sisters,” Wood said.Crunch Fitness’ corporate office offered a statement after the ACLU announced the lawsuit on Wednesday.  2642

EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - The pandemic created a surge in food insecurity in San Diego and the purple tier restrictions are making it worse. Neighbors are stepping in to fill the bellies of those in need.In El Cajon a bright yellow wooden box is perched next to the sidewalk. On it a sign reads, "Blessing Box".Inside it's stocked like a mini grocery store, with grains like rice and pasta, beans, canned vegetables and protein. Single serving hot chocolate, tea and oatmeal line the second shelf. On the top shelf, snacks, drinks, and items to round out a meal are ready for the taking.Andrea Roberts heard of a Blessing Box in 2018 on social media and immediately knew she needed one.Her friend had the same intuition and had her husband craft the wooden box. They surprised Roberts by dropping it off on her porch.Roberts painted the box, affixed a stand to it, and cemented the stand in the grass next to her sidewalk in September 2018.Momentum has been growing through social media and the urge to help during the pandemic."Yesterday was jam packed, I had several people come and bring stuff, so much stuff they left the excess on the porch," Roberts said. She lifted her garage door to unveil piles of food and shelves of canned food, illustrating the willingness to give by the community."I'm overwhelmed, really overwhelmed." Roberts said when she put up the box she thought it would be self sustaining, 'take what you need and give what you can.'Since the pandemic, she said, there's been a surge in need and donations.According to the San Diego Hunger Coalition, more than 1,000,000 San Diegans are food insecure. That translates to three out of every ten people in the county don't know where they'll get their next meal."My hope is just that people find a resource where there is no shame no timeline, if you're working and you're barely making it. Maybe you can't get to a food distribution or a pantry, where this is available 24 hours a day."There are Blessing Boxes around San Diego, at churches, one in La Mesa, Santee, Escondido and Julian.
