CHANGSHA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has warned that China's macro economic control policy is facing mounting difficulties with the severity of the international financial crisis and the unpredictable nature of the global economic recovery."China's current economy remains good, but the domestic and international environment is extremely complicated," Wen said while addressing a symposium held Saturday in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province.The symposium, which was presided over by Premier Wen, was thrown to feature economic situation in three provinces of Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong.At the symposium, Wen reiterated the government's stance in maintaining the continuity and stability of macro economic policies, and making these macro policies more flexible and targeted.Wen said the government would "work to promote stable and relatively fast domestic economic growth, restructure the economy and manage inflation expectations to ensure the government's goals for 2010 are met."The government would endeavor to resolve long-term structural problems while targeting urgent issues, Wen said.Before the symposium, Wen also inspected flood prevention and control efforts in parts of Hunan Thursday, and moved on to Changsha, the provincial capital, to visit a number of other venues including companies ranging from machinery, outsourcing to animation companies Friday.While inspecting the companies, Wen enquired about their business, employment and social security, and encouraged them to step up innovation."An internationally competitive enterprise needs products of the best quality, world-leading patent technologies and generations of excellent staff," Wen said when talking with employees in Sany Group, a Changsha-based leading Chinese engineering machinery manufacturer.Wen talked with employers and job hunters at a job market in Changsha. MOSCOW, June 21 (Xinhua) -- China has played a role of great importance during the founding and development of G20, Russian presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich said on Monday."Without China's participation, it would be much more difficult for the group to discuss or solve the developmental problems of world economy. Therefore, the participation of China, as well as some other emerging economies like Brazil and India, has become prominently significant," Dvorkovich commented after a news conference ahead of the upcoming G8 and G20 summit in Toronto, Canada.The presidential aide said the Chinese leaders' stance and viewpoints, proposed in the previous three G20 financial summit since November 2008, have helped stabilize the world economy as a whole.Dvorkovich noted that China's decision on further exchange rate reform was not outcome of external pressure.He said that any country, including Russia, China and the United States, could not allow their domestic policies to be ruled by external factors. The nations, however, should understand the common and mutual responsibilities in the global economic system.The delegates to the G20 summit will adjust their polices after consultations, but nobody will bend under pressure, he stressed.Dvorkovich said that several countries may voice concerns over China's exchange rate policies at the summits, but there will not be large-scale discussions over the Chinese currency.The People's Bank of China, China's central bank, announced on Saturday a decision to proceed further with the reform of the exchange rate regime to enhance the flexibility of the RMB's exchange rate.

BEIJING/YICHUN Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday started the official probe into the Yichun plane crash which killed 42 people and injured 54 others while domestic airlines were ordered to overhaul safety measures.The State Council, or China's Cabinet, has set up a special work group to probe the cause of the crash. Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao ordered a thorough investigation and beefed-up efforts to ensure air travel safety.Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang, who led an investigation team to the lush forested city of Yichun overnight after the crash, headed the work group.Zhang called upon the work-group's first meeting Wednesday but details of the meeting were not made public.Li Jian, vice director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), told Xinhua that the work group has started to gather evidence for the probe, but the process would take some time.A Brazil-made ERJ-190 turbine jet of Henan Airlines crashed during the landing at the forests-surrounded Lindu Airport of Yichun City late Tuesday night, killing 42 and injuring 54 passengers and the crew on board.Fifteen severely injured, including children and a vice minister, were transferred to four key hospitals in Harbin, the provincial capital on Wednesday night.Initial probes and survivors' accounts indicate the plane missed the runway and crashed on the ground, cracking the cabin and triggering a mild explosion.No signs of sabotage have been found so far, investigators said.The black boxes of the jet have been retrieved.The Lindu airport of Yichun was closed down shortly while operations of the Henan Airlines were suspended.The board of directors of Henan Airlines on Wednesday sacked the airline's general manager Li Qiang and appointed an acting manager to replace him.Cao Bo, Li's replacement, served as the chief pilot of Shenzhen Airlines, the parent company of Henan Airliens.Major Chinese carriers, including the China Eastern and China Southern, on Wednesday called upon emergency meetings to review the companies' safety measures.
