SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A fast-moving fire broke out in the mountains near Santa Barbara late Monday afternoon. According to KEYT, the blaze, named the Cave Fire, sparked around 4:15 p.m. along Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo. By 5 p.m., the fire had burned 15 acres. That number quickly grew to 2,500 acres by 7:54 p.m., The Tribune reports. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The fearsome NFL pass rusher Fred Dean has died. The death of the former San Francisco 49ers star on Wednesday night was confirmed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.Ex-teammate Dwight Hicks says Dean was hospitalized last week with the coronavirus and was on a ventilator. Dean was 68 years old.Dean was a key part of the launch of the 49ers' dynasty. He was an undersized pass rusher who began his career as a second-round pick with the San Diego Chargers in 1975 and ended it in the Pro Football Hall of Fame after being named an All-Pro twice and making four Pro Bowls.Dean was an All-Pro for the Chargers in 1980 but had his biggest impact after being traded to San Francisco during the 1981 season.Dean is a member of the Chargers Hall of Fame and was named to the Bolts' 40th and 50th anniversary teams. 838

(KGTV) — San Diego County will set up a coronavirus testing site at one of the world's busiest border crossings.County Supervisor Greg Cox said Wednesday the testing site will be at San Ysidro Port of Entry's PedWest crossing and serve about 200 tests daily. The testing site will be used for essential workers coming into the U.S. from Mexico and returning U.S. citizens. (KGTV) - A San Diego Police motorcycle officer suffered leg injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the South Bay Friday.The collision was reported just before 10 a.m. on westbound SR-905 at I-805. The officer was conducting a vehicle stop of a red SUV when a white pickup collided with the officer's motorcycle. The motorcycle then collided with the SUV, knocking the officer 70 feet down an embankment.The officer was able to call in the collision on their own. SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Fast-moving floodwaters swept a vehicle away in Santa Clarita Thursday as what is being called an “atmospheric river” set up over the area, according to KABC. The incident happened along Road Runner Road, per tweets from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Santa Clarity Valley station.Due to the flooding the road was shut down. The driver was able to make it out of the vehicle safely thanks to good Samaritans.The man's car was totaled, but before he even had a chance to dry off, a neighbor bought him a replacement SUV, KABC reported.  598
