SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- This Saturday, the City of San Diego invites all children to play in the mud.In a celebration of nature and friendship, “International Mud Day” encourages kids to get dirty together. First celebrated between Australia and Nepal in 2009, the holiday has spread to cities across the world.Saturday will mark San Diego’s 2nd Mud Day celebration. All children and their families are invited to Crown Point Park in Mission Bay from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.After a successful celebration in 2018, the City has expanded the event to include obstacle courses, nature crafts, and more. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego county Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man died following what was believed to be a fight at Pala Casino early Saturday morning.According to the department, the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance from the 4700 block of Highway 76. He was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m.After an initial investigation, the department believes he was in a fight with another man in the parking lot of Pala Casino around 6:30 a.m.The department’s homicide unit is investigating, but at this time, no further details or identities of the victim or suspect have been released. 621

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — This year, December Nights organizers are opting for a tasty, food-driven event in place of the traditional two-night gathering in Balboa Park."Taste of December Nights" will feature more than 20 food trucks and vendors in Balboa Park, inviting visitors to enjoy a delicious drive-thru event this year. The event will be held from Friday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.The event is free to attend, but visitors must remain in the vehicles and wear face coverings. Organizers say walk-ups, or people attending on bikes or scooters will not be allowed, as safety protocols amid the pandemic will be enforced.The food truck event will roll into the park's Inspiration Point parking lot, near President's Way and Park Blvd.The event will also feature some giveaways for visitors, including a commemorative Taste of December Nights tote bag filled with some festive items for the first 500 cars each day.
