CAYCE, S.C. — Authorities in South Carolina say a 6-year-old girl who disappeared from her front yard after school was strangled by a neighbor who then killed himself. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher told reporters Tuesday that Faye Marie Swetlik died from asphyxiation just a few hours after she was abducted on Feb. 10. On Feb. 13, Swetlik’s body was found in the woods nearby moments before 30-year-old neighbor Coty Scott Taylor was found dead in his home.Investigators also found clues about her disappearance in Taylor's trash can. DETROIT — A Michigan mother claims her 15-year-old daughter was booted from a Spirit Airlines flight from Tampa to Detroit without notice.Now, she's taking action and suing the airline.The alleged incident happened in April 2018 when the family was returning from Ft. Lauderdale and had to switch planes in Tampa.Stacy Giordano had a seat with her son in the back of the plane, and her daughter was reportedly assigned to a seat in the front of the aircraft. That's when Giordano's attorney Jerry Thurswell claims Giordano's daughter was suddenly removed from the plane to make room for another passenger due to overbooking.“They didn’t want to hear anything. They just pulled her off the plane," Thurswell said.Thurswell said the teenager attempted to reach her mother by phone, but was unable to do so because of the airline's mandatory "airplane mode" policy on cell phones. Giordano's phone was not receiving messages. The girl was put on another flight back to Detroit hours later. Giordano didn't realize her daughter was gone until mid-flight.“You don’t just separate a child from their mother," Thurswell said.“The safety and security of our Guests is our top priority,” Spirit Airlines said in a statement.Thurswell said the airline refunded Giordano a ticket and offered her extra flight miles.The family is suing for more than ,000 in damages. 1369

Despite the rise of streaming services like Netflix, going to the movies is still a billion dollar business in America. COVID-19 has closed the doors of theaters across the nation, but as things start to reopen, some theaters are prepping for incoming changes.The Ruth Sokolof Theater in Omaha was getting ready for a busy summer, but thanks to the pandemic they were dealt a plot twist. “Our priority is and will continue to be reopening when it’s safe and appropriate to do so,” said Casey Logan, Deputy Director of Film Streams.Their doors have been shut since early March, and with so many seats close together, things will definitely look different when the show goes on.“A checkerboard style seating where there’s groups of seating all with six feet or more apart so that there is that distance between groups in the theaters,” said Logan.He says certain events like one-time screenings with a visiting filmmaker that brings hundreds of people won’t be presented the same or maybe, not at all. “We’re just expected that there would be events that in normal times that we would be presenting that we won’t be able to present in the months ahead,” said Logan.Limited crowd size and social distancing are the two big changes, but there’s other things theaters should consider.“You don’t give the same seat to two consecutive shows and in-between screenings you have to somehow sanitize the theater,” said Dr. Phani Tej Adidam, Chair & Professor of Marketing of Entrepreneurship at UNO.He adds moviegoers should be part of a loyalty program for contact tracing purposes.“If something happens they should have the ability to trace all the people who came in and all the people they were in contact with,” said Adidam.Theaters may struggle with content as well, as summer blockbusters continue to be delayed. CLEVELAND — Chuck and Angie Graham have been married 33 years.They have been through a lot together in that time, but perhaps their biggest challenge yet came in January.The Diagnosis"I woke up in the morning to go to work and I lost my balance a couple times and fell down," Chuck said.Angie said she heard something and yelled up to him if he was OK."He said he was falling and couldn't walk," Angie recalled, tearing up.An ambulance ride, and several tests and scans later, the Grahams had their answer — and it was devastating."She said that I had a very aggressive tumor in my brain and it was malignant," Chuck said.Such a diagnosis can make you feel so helpless, Angie said.The DenialThey say the next blow was just as unexpected.Their health insurance provider denied covering the procedure Chuck's neurosurgeon recommended to treat his cancerous brain tumor, saying it was "experimental" and "investigational."The laser ablation procedure was FDA-cleared a decade ago, but that does not guarantee coverage.The Grahams appealed the decision. Chuck was prepped for surgery hoping for a last-minute approval that never came, and he was sent home."Just the look on his face, broke my heart," Angie said."He's a veteran. He's a dad. He's a husband, a grandpa and a friend who would do anything for you. How could they not value him?"Fighting BackChuck's family took action.His daughter Jen Koons led the charge."They've just always been there for us," Jen said.And now she wanted to be there for them.Jen turned to the power of social media.She had previously sent the letter to the company before posting it to Facebook.It began: "An open letter to SummaCare and our health insurance industry..."Jen wrote about her father's fight with brain cancer and health insurance.The letter continued: "I hope thousands of people read this letter and understand that our physicians do not get to decide what's best for us, insurance companies do."Her post was shared nearly 3,000 times.
