Phone calls between President Donald Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, and the White House are being monitored by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, according to a report.Cohen's phones are being monitored through a log of which numbers it connects with, the report says. President Trump and Cohen have had at least one conversation since Cohen's offices were raided in connection to an alleged payment the attorney made to a porn star who says she had an affair with Trump.The report says the phone monitoring was approved by a judge weeks prior to the April 9 raid on Cohen's house in New York City. People are using a chemical used to calibrate machines to get high that is so powerful it's nearly Narcan resistant.Some dealers are passing off this new drug as fentanyl. But the reality is much worse. It's a hazardous chemical mixed with fentanyl called tetrahydrofuran fentanyl."It's got other opioid effects. Some of these things are 100 or 1,000 times more potent than heroin," said Dr. Michael Miller of Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc.The drug is new to Wisconsin, but law enforcement has found it in Florida and Georgia. Last week, a Pennsylvania man, Jeremy Achey, 43, was sentenced to life in prison for supplying tetrahydrofuran fentanyl.According to federal court records, a man overdosed and his fiancee died when they bought it from him over the internet. Prosecutors say the seller told customers, "It is best if you snort it, shoot it, or smoke it."Miller said most addicts do not even know they are taking this synthetic fentanyl."Most people who are exposed to synthetic fentanyls are not using them intentionally. They are not desiring to use them because they understand that the potency is so high it could be lethal," Miller said.Achey is believed to have mailed thousands of packages containing the drug to customers throughout the United States. In order to survive it, Miller warned you would need a large dose of Narcan."It's the fentanyl part that is really fatal because it shuts down your breathing and you die instantly," said Miller. "You use as much opioid reversal agent as you possibly can, you support them, you put them on a ventilator." The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office could not say where the person who died in Milwaukee got the tetrahydrofuran fentanyl. But they warn if one person has it likely others do as well. 1808

OXNARD, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities say a 10-year-old student has been shot by a stray bullet in a drive-by shooting outside a Southern California elementary school. Oxnard police say Friday the child was struck during a car-to-car shooting outside McAuliffe Elementary School in the coastal city. The student is expected to survive and no one else was injured. McAuliffe enrolls about 700 students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Oxnard is a city of 200,000 people about 55 miles northwest of Los Angeles. 521

Phoenix police say a woman has died in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday evening. The incident happened near 43rd Avenue and Union Hills Drive around 7 p.m.Police say no officers were injured in the shooting.According to police, around 6:45 p.m. officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. As officers arrived, a woman reportedly ran out with an AR-15 style rifle and fired shots which prompted officers to return fire, hitting the woman.Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. No further information was immediately available.  592

Parler, an app launched in 2018, is now gaining popularity with some supporters of President Donald Trump in the wake of the election."My viewpoints are clearly being suppressed," George Borowski, who lives in Jupiter, said. "You can't tell me they're not."Borowski is a Parler user. He said his posts on traditional social media have been flagged."You put us on this island where it's like, 'No, no, you guys are in some sort of echo chamber,'" he said. "Um, no, I think what's happening is there is an echo chamber and Facebook is the echo chamber."Parler is an app gaining popularity with some on the right of the political aisle."We feel very much our voices aren't being heard and we can't have these conversations in this country," Borowski said. "You feel this suppression, so Parler was born out of this thought where you can go and not be censored."This surge in popularity follows recent efforts by Twitter and Facebook flagging what they claim is misinformation on their platforms."As a lot of tweets and a lot of Facebook posts from Donald Trump and his allies and even his family have been flagged on Facebook and Twitter from containing false information and inaccurate information about voter fraud from the previous election," Andrew Selepak, a social media professor at the University of Florida, said. "So what we're looking at is a lot of people who want to discuss this, and discuss it freely without posts being flagged, banned and not being able to be shared."Selepak said Parler has a fraction of users compared to Twitter and Facebook, but he noted the growth can't be ignored."The number of accounts in the past week has now doubled and we're looking at about 8 million users, which is a pretty significant jump for a platform that has only been around for about two years," he said.Selepak said critics of the platform call it an "echo chamber.""We've seen posts by QAnon or the Proud Boys or the Bugaloo that have been taken down and their accounts have been blocked by other platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and they're now able to go on Parler and be able to discuss topics and kind of spread information and ideologies, and that is creating some danger," he said. "Is there not any way to regulate it or have somebody checking on the misinformation being spread?"Selepak believed the lack of disagreement will ultimately limit growth."It's about the debate, discussion," he said. "People want to win.
