SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County announced Wednesday if the county continues to hit state triggers with the spread of the coronavirus, museums, zoos and aquariums could be on the long list of closures Monday.The measures apply to any indoor activities.Balboa Park just reopened the Air and Space Museum two weeks ago, after everything closed down in March due to the pandemic."We want to make sure people come back to the park, it is the cultural heart of San Diego," Executive Director of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership Peter Comiskey said.Comiskey said this weekend more of our favorite museums are set to open. Friday the Science Center, the Veterans Museum, the Natural History Museum and the International Gift Shop are set to reopen, with three more museums opening Saturday July 4.The possibility those openings could be short-lived is something Comiskey says they're ready for."We're certainly hoping all the people of San Diego County are really able to pull together and make sure the infection rate and the case load and all these lovely metrics, these important metrics can be contained and can be controlled," he said hopefully.Comiskey said if they have to close Monday after putting so many precautions and time in to ensure the park is safe, they will.Looking to the future, he said they're brainstorming how to bring in money to help these cherished icons survive."I think as time goes on we need to look at what fund-raising is possible, I think we need to look with those organizations that rely on revenue through the gate." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego and National City Police detained three people and sought a fourth Friday at a South Bay home where a neighbor said shots were fired.The incident started Friday about 5 p.m. at Alpha and 47th streets in National City. A woman who lives near the home told 10News she heard gunfire. A 10News crew on the scene saw a man and woman leave the home with their hands raised. Police said three people were detained for questioning. Officers were searching for a fourth person in relation to the incident.There were no reports of injuries. 10News is monitoring breaking developments. 611

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County health officials have warned at least three local churches about having services indoors. The county sent out three letters to Skyline Church in La Mesa; Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lemon Grove; and Awaken Church's campus on Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa.The letters to Skyline and Lighthouse were very similar, saying indoor services create "significant risk of spreading COVID-19," encouraging the churches to move their in-person services outside. The third document is a cease-and-desist letter sent to Awaken Church ordering the church to stop indoor operations. All three letters are dated July 17 and are signed by County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten. The letters state that failure to comply with these orders can mean criminal misdemeanor citations with a fine of ,000 for each violation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego gyms are closing amid coronavirus, forcing residents to work out from home and sparking many tips on how to stay fit amid COVID-19. 24-Hour fitness, a popular San Diego gym, sent out a message Monday night noting that the gym would close March 16 until further notice. "As we all grapple with the enormous scale and impact of the coronavirus in the U.S., it reminds us of how precious life is and the importance of protecting our own health," CEO Tony Ueber said in a news release.
