Yesterday, that chapter concluded, and the grand jury conducted the handoff to criminal prosecution. I have full confidence in the Attorney General's painstaking pursuit of facts and justice."Many Kentuckians have channeled their continuing grief and anger into a peaceful exercise of their First Amendment rights. But in Louisville last night, we saw more of the lawlessness, riots, and violence that has plagued American cities too often this year."Citizens' businesses were vandalized. Fires were set in streets."And two officers of the Metro Police Department were shot and wounded while protecting public safety downtown."As of last night, one officer was still undergoing surgery, but both were in stable condition. We are praying that both will make full recoveries. And one suspect is in custody."Peaceful protests honor the memory of Breonna Taylor. WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A Pasco County photographer recruited her friends for a creative Halloween photoshoot involving pizza and pumpkins.Jennifer Sapountsis said the COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful for everyone."Trick-or-treating has changed a lot and people can't do as much stuff, so why not just try to bring smiles to people's faces and have fun with it," said Sapountsis.She asked her friends, Chris and Sarah Weed, to carve two pumpkins. The three then went to The Edison, a venue in Dade City.The couple was photographed wearing pumpkins on their head. They also ate some pizza."I feel like pizza and beer is an iconic thing for couples when they're chill. What do you want to do on a date night? Let's order some pizza, some beer, chill out," she said.The couple also dressed as ghosts and danced around. Sapountsis shared the photos on her Facebook page, Jennifer Alyssa Photography."I've gotten a lot of responses. I've seen other people try to do the same thing. I've seen a lot of people say that this is what I needed for my day....this was so funny, I want to do the same shoot next year," she said.She said she hopes the pictures make people laugh and smile. She also said her friend's husband was not crazy about the idea until he saw the finished product."He loves his wife, so he was okay doing it and going that extra step...there was so much laughter, so much fun. He was absolutely okay with it at the end. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has ordered lower federal courts in Colorado and New Jersey to reexamine state restrictions on indoor religious services to combat the coronavirus in light of the justices' recent ruling in favor of churches and synagogues in New York.According to NBC News, the judges ruled 6-3 in the case brought by High Plains Harvest Church in Colorado to send back to the lower courts, where the church previously lost.According to the Associated Press, Colorado said it took action and amended a public health order "to remove capacity limits from all houses of worship at all times in response to this Court's recent decisions."In a brief dissent, Justice Elena Kagan wrote that should have settled the issue because "there is no reason to think Colorado will reverse course—and so no reason to think Harvest Church will again face capacity limits."In the New Jersey case, the Supreme Court issued a ruling limiting the state's application of COVID-19 restrictions that apply to religious settings, granting an injunction sought by a Catholic priest at a church in North Caldwell rabbi at a synagogue in Lakewood, NBC News reported.The high court's unsigned decisions Tuesday threw out federal district court rulings that rejected challenges to limits imposed in both states.Last month, the Supreme Court ruled that New York could not enforce certain limits on attendance at churches and synagogues.No justice noted a dissent from the New Jersey decision, the AP reported. 1507

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wisc. -- A Town of Merton man was charged after he called police when sex workers he hired allegedly stole his phone.Scott A Peschmann, 41, along with Victoria Pena, 24, and Maria Lebron, 27, were charged with prostitution and theft after meeting at Peschmann's home for sex, according to the criminal complaint. "Officers made contact with Scott Peschmann who indicated that three females had been at his residence and had stolen his cell phone and 0 in cash," said the criminal complaint. Peschmann had met Pena on the website, "back page," and arranged for an "intimate evening." They agreed upon a price of 0 for various sexual acts.  "Peshmann indicated that he had left four 0 bills on the corner fo the front room desk as a donation for the girls," said the criminal complaint. Peshmann noticed that his cell phone and the money were missing when Lebron went to the car to get a condom. The women were later stopped after officers spotted their vehicle and Peschman's phone was found in Lebron's purse.   1120
